Linnda Durre' was accepted to and attended Edward Albee's Master Class
Seminar in Playwriting at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida for
which she wrote the play, "The Viewing" and she adapted it for a short
film, which she also directed, produced, and cast, starring Mimi Lipka,
former performance coach at Universal Studios, as the mother; Sarah
Benz Phillips as the daughter, and Frank Taylor as the deceased father
in the casket.
"The Viewing" was an official selection at the 2005 Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival, the Delray Beach Film Festival and it was a finalist in the Best of Florida/Made in Florida Film Festival. The film also won two Crystal Reel Awards from FMPTA - the Florida Motion Picture and Television Association - in 2005 for "Best Short Script" by Linnda Durre' and "Best Supporting Actress" for Sarah Benz Phillips. The film was edited by Erik Reiss and shot by cinematography instructor Robert Perry, both on the faculty of Full Sail University, Winter Park, Florida. Producers were Mike Hersh, Linnda Durre', Adam Arnali, and Steve Shea. Executive producers were Veronica Sommer and Christel Wight. The short 22 minute film was shot in two days for approximately $4,000.
Linnda also took Bob McKee's course in Los Angeles as well as studied at AFI in Los Angeles - the American Film Institute.
