Todd Hieu Mathus was born in Saigon, Vietnam, but raised and educated
in Greater Boston area. Growing up, he trained in Shaolin Kempo, a form
of martial arts and focused his studies on electronics. He felt a
strong desire to use his skills to serve his country and joined the
United States Air Force. He served honorably during Desert Shield and
Desert Storm before becoming an agent under Homeland Security. He has
also taught Martial arts at the United Studios of Self Defense and held
supervisory and management positions at several businesses.
He began his entertainment career modeling for brands including J.C. Penny and Calvin Klein and began acting for film the following year. He immersed himself in conversation and study, learning the craft and soaking up every tidbit he could about all facets of the industry. He feels honored to have been mentored by some of the best and has used this knowledge as both an actor and producer.
Todd landed his first major role in "Prank" (2004) as Joshua, where he played opposite the lead. From there, Todd resigned from Homeland Security and launched into his newfound career. Todd has worked with Warner Bros., Lion's Gate, Dark Horse Entertainment, and ABC Television, as well as a number of smaller production companies. He won multiple accolades for his acting, including "best male actor" for his performance in "Prank", and, "most dedicated actor" for "The Whistler".
In 2007, he launched TKH Productions. He produced his first Independent film, "Running on Empty Dreams," written and directed by Nitara Lee Osborne. The film received three Telly awards, garnered a distribution deal through Maverick Entertainment and is available in stores.
Due to his career advances, Todd, now, resides in the greater Los Angeles, CA area. He stands out because of his boundless energy and wit balanced by the discipline and commitment to see projects through to completion. The former airman states, " I know that half-hearted efforts do not bear fruit and that hard work and intensity pay off."
