With new seasons of The Oval and Sistas on the way, it’s pretty much going to be Tyler Perry’s October on BET and BET Her. And we have no complaints.

It all begins with the return of The Oval on Tuesday, Oct. 11 (9/8c), TVLine has learned exclusively. The political thriller’s fourth season premiere, ominously titled “The Package,” finds Victoria receiving “disturbing news from the White House doctor concerning Jason,” while Donald “learns Grip is not the indestructible man he thought he was.”

Tyler Perry’s “The Oval” and “Sistas” have been renewed for a fourth and fifth season, respectively, at BET.

Production on the new seasons of both series is set to start at Tyler Perry Studios this spring.

BET has renewed the top-rated Tyler Perry’s The Oval for a fourth season, just ahead of its Season 3 finale, and Tyler Perry’s Sistas for a fifth season. Sistas and The Oval are currently the No. 1 and No. 2 series, respectively, airing on cable with African Americans P2+, per Nielsen.

Executive produced, directed, and written by Perry, The Oval season three averaged 1.3 Million Total viewers Live+3 per episode, and Sistas season four averaged 1.6 Million Total Viewers Live+3 on BET and BET Her every week, according to Nielsen. Production for both series is set to start at Tyler Perry Studios this Spring.

BET has renewed Tyler Perry’s political soap for a third season, Deadline reports. The pickup comes just one week after the premiere of the show’s 22-episode second season and ahead of tonight’s second episode.

Exclusive: A week after Tyler Perry’s The Oval premiered its second season on BET, the drama series has been renewed for a third.

Perry helped BET reclaim Tuesday as a night of original programming with the first-ever TV airing of his Madea’s Farewell Play and The Oval‘s Season 2 opener on February 16.

Madea’s Farewell Play drew 1.2 million total viewers (Live+3) in the simulcast across BET and BET Her. The Oval averaged 1.5 million viewers across the two networks and 1.4 million on BET alone. That was down from the record high for the Season 1 finale (3.2 million across BET and BET Her). A drop-off was expected as the network is using one of its strongest scripted series to make inroads on Tuesday.
