This article contains spoilers for "Agatha All Along."
Jac Schaeffer's 2024 TV series "Agatha All Along" stars Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, a wicked sorceress who serves as a nemesis to the Scarlet Witch. The show is a direct spinoff of 2021's "WandaVision," where the character was first introduced. The new series saw Agatha forming a new coven of witches so that they along with her new teenage sidekick Teen (Joe Locke) could face the trials of the Witches' Road, a mysterious process that grants its survivors any wish they want. Agatha lost her witch powers, so she very much would like to have them back. The series also featured Aubrey Plaza as the Rio Vidal aka Death (who was Agatha's ex-girlfriend), as well as living legend, Patti LuPone, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, and Debra Jo Rupp.

Netflix has submitted a total of 32 TV programs for awards consideration at the upcoming Golden Globes, and 20 for the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Gold Derby has learned exclusively.
Some of the streamer’s notable TV titles include Season 2 of “Squid Game,” the survival thriller starring Emmy and SAG winner Lee Jung-jae; popular new comedy “Nobody Wants This,” about an agnostic woman (Kristen Bell) and an unconventional rabbi (Adam Brody); and “Baby Reindeer,” the buzzy limited series that recently set the Emmys on fire, going home with six trophies. See the full list of submissions below, broken down by show.
Note that the Golden Globes have lead actor and lead actress categories that are separated by TV genres (drama/comedy/limited), but that the supporting actor and supporting actress races encapsulate all genres. As of last year, the organization also now offers an award for the best stand-up comedy special on television.

In Agatha All Along's finale, we learned more about Agatha Harkness' past and the truth about her son, Nicky (better known to comic book fans as Nicholas Scratch).
Just as Agatha was about to give birth, Death showed up to claim the child; however, the witch pleaded for more time and seemingly bought that by killing witches. On the one night - at Nicky's prompting - that she didn't, Death finally came for him and Agatha, ashamed of her actions, spent hundreds of years murdering her fellow magic-users on the "Witches' Road" to avoid being reunited with the boy.
Much has been said about who his father could be and, in a new interview, Agatha All Along showrunner Jac Schaeffer dropped her biggest hint yet that Rio Vidal/Death conceived the child with the show's title character.
"I will say [Laughs] that when we were casting sometimes we were like, 'Does that kid look like Rio?...

Agatha All Along concluded with a two-episode finale last week, and we recently asked you to vote so we could determine what Cbm's readers made of the WandaVision spin-off.
The results are now in, and you might be surprised by the outcome!
2239 of you voted, and a whopping 42% (947) went with the most positive option, "Excellent." 27% (615) of you felt it was "Very Good," 15% (329) went with "Good," and only 9% (191) clicked on the most negative choice, "Awful."
It's fair to say that Agatha All Along wasn't exactly the most anticipated Disney+ Marvel series, but the show quickly established itself as a must-watch for many fans. A second season has not been announced, but the fact that Disney has submitted the show in the comedy categories for the upcoming awards season has led to speculation that Marvel might be planning to continue the story.

Though the recent two-episode finale of Agatha All Along was seen as a fairly satisfying conclusion by a lot of viewers, some were left a little disappointed by the lack of any major reveals or cameos, and episode 9 included a plot twist that definitely didn't work for everyone.
As we reported prior to the finale, it was revealed that the Witches' Road was never actually real... until it was! It turns out that the Ballad of the Witches' Road was something Agatha and her son Nicholas Scratch made up to pass the time, before Harkness began to use the song to lure unsuspecting witches to her so she could steal their power.

Unlike the majority of Marvel Studios movies and shows, Agatha All Along did not feature a post-credits scene after the recent two-episode finale.
Showrunner Jac Schaeffer has confirmed that she did write "a number of post-credit scenes," which she has "done on every Marvel project [she's] ever worked on," but "ultimately, it was a Marvel decision not to have a tag on this show."
Now, scooper Mttsh has shared some details on two of the scrapped stingers, and, honestly, they don't sound particularly exciting.
The first would reportedly have caught up with Jennifer Kale as she searches for the doctor who she initially believed to be responsible for taking her powers, while the second saw Death follow Wiccan and Ghost Agatha into the portal as they embark on their quest to find Tommy Maximoff.
One of them had Jennifer Kale looking for the doctor who is still alive somehow https://t.

Agatha All Along, which for my money is the best show to come out of Marvel Studios in a minute, ended on a cliffhanger, as Marvel shows tend to do. Lead character Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) is dead, but has returned as a ghost. Together, she will help Billy Maximoff (Joe Locke) find his brother, who was recently reincarnated via a chain of events too confusing to recount here. The show's pretty good; you can watch all nine episodes on Disney+.
"I think that people are meant to expect more of Billy and Agatha somewhere in the MCU," creator Jac Schaffer told Entertainment Weekly. Ah, but where? In the MCU, characters are known to bounce between shows and movies. Might Agatha and Billy get their own film, The Adventures of Witch Boy and Ghost Girl? Could they show up in Vision Quest, a new show being developed around the character...

Before Agatha All Along launched on Disney+, many people repeatedly questioned why the show was happening and accused it of being "woke" for featuring female and gay leads. As a result, the majority of MCU fans braced themselves for another round of The Acolyte-style review-bombing.
For the most part, it never came; however, attempts were made as the show boasted a surprisingly low Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes the day before it premiered.
Week after week, Agatha All Along has proven itself a worthy successor to WandaVision and a story that was very much worth telling. That's evident from the fact it has the best Audience Score for any Phase 5 TV show!

It’s time to update your awards predictions at Gold Derby, because a major TV contender has just announced its strategy for the upcoming 2025 kudos. “Agatha All Along,” Disney Plus’ spin-off of “WandaVision” starring Kathryn Hahn as a centuries-old, sassy witch, will submit in the comedy categories at the Golden Globes, SAG Awards, and next year’s Emmys, per our sister site Variety. The show was originally designed to be a limited series with a beginning, middle, and end.
Two years ago, Hahn received nominations for “WandaVision” at the Emmys and Critics Choice Awards in the limited series races for playing Agnes The Nosy Neighbor, aka Agatha Harkness. The quirky song “Agatha All Along” by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, which won the Best Music & Lyrics Emmy, told the tale of how Agatha was actually responsible for everything that had happened in the fictional town of Westview.

The premiere of Agatha All Along began with "Detective Agnes" discovering Wanda Maximoff's dead body, and even though we never saw her face, a lot of fans expected Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch to show up in the recent finale.
The former Avenger never appeared, and we only got a vague update on her current MCU status (she's dead... unless she isn't?), and it sounds like enlisting Olsen for a cameo was never a real possibility.
While speaking to THR, showrunner Jac Schaeffer explained why she felt that bringing Wanda back for the finale would have ended up being detrimental to Agatha's story.
"It wasn’t really a for-real conversation, and to speak plainly, it’s a larger conversation of casting, logistics, availability, and budget. Also, to me, on a creative level, it didn’t feel fair to the character of Agatha. This is her story, and the idea...

Disney+ has waved its magic wand to place “Agatha” in the comedy category.
Under the banner of Marvel Television Studios, the hit new spin-off series “Agatha All Along,” starring Kathryn Hahn, will be submitted in the comedy categories for the upcoming awards season, including the Golden Globes, SAG Awards, and next year’s Emmy race, Variety has learned exclusively. The move aligns “Agatha” in a competitive lineup, as it will face acclaimed comedies like ABC’s “Abbott Elementary,” FX’s “The Bear” and HBO/Max’s “Hacks.”
This decision places Hahn in the running against heavyweights such as Jean Smart, Quinta Brunson, and Ayo Edebiri — who have each won the TV comedy actress race for their respective shows over the past three years. For Hahn, who’s never been nominated for a Globe, a mention could be pivotal as she seeks to make a mark at next year’s Emmys ceremony.

[This story contains major spoilers from Agatha All Along’s two-episode finale.]
Just as she did in 2021 with WandaVision, Jac Schaeffer and her latest Marvel series, Agatha All Along, have left fans wanting more of her storytelling spell.
In the Gandja Monteiro-directed two-episode finale, Agatha (Kathryn Hahn), Jennifer Kale (Sasheer Zamata) and Billy Maximoff (Joe Locke) completed their journey across the Witches’ Road, but the mystical realm turned out to be nothing more than a byproduct of Billy’s subconscious and his pop cultural interests. Most of all, his spell-created dimension was inspired by “The Ballad of the Witches’ Road,” which Agatha’s 6-year-old son, Nicky Scratch, originated in 1756. That’s also the same year that Agatha’s former lover, Death (Aubrey Plaza), took Nicky’s life, and despite her willingness to satisfy Death’s latest demand of Billy, Agatha swerved at the last minute, sacrificing herself instead to save Billy.
This action opened the door for Ghost Agatha, a destination that...

Agatha All Along proved to be a satisfying journey for fans, though the absence of characters like Mephisto, Speed (who was at least hinted at for a future story), and Hulkling did disappoint some.
There's plenty of time for them to appear in future stories, of course, and showrunner Jac Schaeffer has now confirmed there were once plans for Teddy Altman to appear in the WandaVision follow-up.
In fact, William Kaplan/Billy Maximoff's boyfriend, Eddie (Miles Gutierrez-Riley), was going to be called Teddy! Had that happened, we'd imagine his true identity as a Kree/Skrull hybrid would have been saved for a post-credits scene or something along those lines.
"There were early conversations [about Hulkling]," Schaeffer tells Entertainment Weekly. "[Eddie] was originally called Teddy because we were looking at the artwork and thinking about that. That was a Marvel decision to not have him be Hulkling for the purposes of our show."

Agatha All Along wrapped up its first (and likely only) season this week, and showrunner Jac Schaeffer has been sharing some interesting details about certain things that didn't make the cut.
During an in-depth chat with The Ringer-Verse, Schaeffer revealed that she originally wanted to bring back a surprising character from She-Hulk: Attorney at Law to be a part of Agatha's makeshift coven.

So, firstly the title is a bit misleading as Netflix had renewed the Keri Russell-led political thriller comedy-drama series for Season 3 twenty days before Season 2 came out.
Despite The Diplomat Season 2’s shorter runtime compared to its first season, the streaming giant seems to have immense faith in the series as they renewed the series nearly weeks before the second season was supposed to come out and now we know why. Agtaha All Along Finale Spoiler Stills Released As Showrunner Reveals Marvel's Scarlet Witch Mandate
Heading into Agatha All Along, we'd hoped that the series might clear up the Scarlet Witch's MCU status. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness strongly hinted that the Avenger died, though a red flash before Mount Wundagore collapsed pointed to her escaping that fate.
The WandaVision follow-up has established that Wanda Maximoff is "gone" but stopped short of revealing whether she's dead or alive.
Talking to Deadline, showrunner Jac Schaeffer said, "It’s my opinion - and these stories will move ahead, and who knows what it will be - it’s my opinion that Agatha does not know. And yeah, it’s my opinion that Rio does. I think the word 'gone' is important. I was instructed to use the word 'gone.'"

What a thrill-ride Agatha All Along has been! Marvel Television ensured that fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be entertained this spooky season, offering up pure delight with the bewitching series that has turned out to be a remarkable success for the studio.
Not only has the WandaVision spinoff show continued the ongoing story of the MCU, it has appealed to a wide variety of audiences, bringing in TV fans who loved the original series and general Halloween fans, who were thrilled to see some good old-fashioned witchy content. It's probably fair to say that Agatha All Along wasn't one of the more highly-anticipated MCU shows to be announced for the Disney+ streaming service.
The prospect of a WandaVision spin-off focusing on scene-stealing witch Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) may have seemed like a more appealing idea a few years ago, but even then, a lot of fans wondered what the point of a series revolving around this character was when there are better-known and more popular Marvel Comics heroes and villains that have yet to be given the spotlight.
Even so, the first two episodes proved to be surprisingly popular, and based on critical (the show's Rotten Tomatoes score has now gone from 67% to 83%) and audience responses, many would seem to agree that the series only increased in quality as it went on.

Spoiler Warning: This story includes major plot details for the Marvel Studios limited series “Agatha All Along,” currently streaming on Disney+.
When Jac Schaeffer signs onto Zoom roughly 18 hours after the two-episode finale of her series “Agatha All Along” debuted on Disney+, she looks at once relieved and slightly queasy.
“From when it dropped to about an hour ago, I’ve been feeling pretty shaky,” the showrunner says with a laugh. “We dropped a lot of content — a lot of moments.”
Schaeffer isn’t exaggerating. The episodes, titled “Follow Me My Friend / To Glory at the End” and “Maiden Mother Crone,” are chockablock with surprise twists and revelations that upend the story of Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn), Billy Maximoff (Joe Locke) and the coven of women who venture with them onto the fabled Witches’ Road. For one thing, it turns out the Witches’ Road never really existed — until Billy unknowingly summoned it into being.

As you may recall, it's previously been reported that Agatha All Along completed its scheduled reshoots in only one day. With the WandaVision spin-off, Marvel Studios may have finally cracked TV, delivering a satisfying beginning, middle, and end, all with an appropriate budget thanks to practical sets and an effective use of VFX.
Today, scooper @MyTimeToShineH brings word about some of the changes Marvel Television made to Agatha All Along during those reshoots and production in general.
They start by confirming that the Scarlet Witch was never in the series, so that didn't change (Alex Perez has also acknowledged that he was way off base with the claim Wanda Maximoff would be found in a dormant state at the end of the Witches' Road).
Original plans called for Agatha Harkness to ask Death to "retire" her Rio Vidal form, prompting the powerful entity to respond, "But this is the me you fell in love with.

Agatha All Along wrapped up its first season on Disney+ and the ending paves the way for possibly more witchy adventures!
Caution: This article contains Spoilers for Agatha All Along Season 1
The series followed Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn), who regained her memories and was on a search for power. She was aided by Teen (Joe Locke) and gathering a coven of witches in Jennifer Kale (Sasheer Zamata), Alice (Ali Ahn), Lilia (Patti LuPone) and quirky neighbor Sharon (Debra Jo Rupp). Agatha led them on a journey along the legendary Witch's Road, which supposedly grants any witch what they desire.
Over the course of the season, one by one, the other coven members were killed off as the group was hunted by Rio (Aubrey Plaza), who turned out to be Death itself…and Agatha’s ex-girlfriend. Yep.

Aubrey Plaza's MCU debut as Rio Vidal in Agatha All Along was celebrated by fans. However, the revelation that she's Death has been hailed as one of Marvel Studios' best casting decisions ever.
Now, Emmy-nominated Makeup Artist Erin LeBre has revealed just how much of the Death design we saw in the two-episode finale was practical. As you can see below, little in the way of VFX was needed to bring this character to life and we're hoping she keeps this look during any future appearances.
Death may be a one-and-done for the MCU, though we'd be shocked if she doesn't show her face in other supernatural projects heading our way when the Multiverse Saga concludes.
For many, the hope is that she might be allied with Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, becoming an ally to him similar to how Thanos served her in the comic books.

The Diplomat season 2 is officially done filming, according to star Nana Mensah. And, there's even more good news!
Mensah told TV Line that filming wrapped in the UK. She also shared that season 2 should be released on Netflix later this year. It's not the first time that we've heard the new season is going to premiere this year, so that's a great sign for fans who are eagerly awaiting the premiere of season 2 of the Netflix original series starring Keri Russell, Rufus Sewell, and David Gyasi.
Mensah also told TV Line that season 2 is “even better, more dynamic, more everything. The tensions have mounted in a way that is really propulsive and exciting.”
So, we don't know when production on The Diplomat season 2 actually wrapped, but it was still in production as late as this spring.

Keri Russell takes on the perfect post-The Americans acting job in Netflix’s slick new political thriller The Diplomat, which also stars Rufus Sewell as her on-screen husband, Hal Wyler. The marriage between Hal and Kate (Russell) is just one of many pivotal relationships in this talk-heavy drama that keeps you hooked and guessing from start to finish.
The Diplomat season 1 recap
Though The Diplomat is primarily a show about talking and strategizing, similar to The West Wing in many ways, it’s also entirely engrossing, and all of the performances are top-notch. Russell plays a career diplomat who must juggle a new high-profile job amid an international crisis while potentially being groomed for an even more notable position.

Few shows in recent memory have as good a handle on what they are as The Diplomat. That’s particularly impressive when you consider that the series — starring Keri Russell as Kate Wyler, a veteran State Department operative thrust into the job of America’s ambassador to Great Britain, in what is secretly an audition to replace the sitting vice-president — is often trying to be multiple shows at once: a knotty political drama, a screwball romance,...

In last night's two-episode finale of Agatha All Along - you can read our in-depth recap here - we were treated to some huge revelations and surprises. Of course, among the biggest were those comic-accurate costumes.
Firstly, Billy Maximoff emerges from the Witches' Road with full control of his powers and suits up as Wiccan. Wearing a costume that's almost identical to his look on the page, Billy looked phenomenal in action, particularly with a crown - in place of a headband - that links him to his mother, the Scarlet Witch.
It didn't end with Billy, though. With Death unleashed, the true face of "Rio Vidal" is finally revealed and Marvel Studios has translated this character from the page to screen in a really exciting way.
There have been rumblings online we'll see her again, so the hope now is that she might serve as an ally to Robert Downey Jr....

The Diplomat season 2 finale is a game-changing episode for the series! I truly can’t believe everything that happened in this episode, and now, I can’t wait to see what creator Debora Cahn and the team have planned in The Diplomat season 3.

The Diplomat season 2 episode, “Our Lady of Immaculate Deception,” begins immediately where the fourth episode ended.
In Scotland, Margaret Roylin (Celia Imrie) revealed to Prime Minister Nicol Trowbridge (Rory Kinnear) that it was actually her who hired Roman Lenkov to create a conflict and stop the Scottish secession movement, but the false flag operation went wrong.
Instead of hearing her out and listening to her reasoning, Trowbridge lost his mind and strangled Roylin. She falls to the ground and hits her head as the CIA agents who planned the operation rush in to pull Trowbridge off of her.
No, Trowbridge doesn’t kill Margaret Roylin
Thankfully, for the sake of the story, Trowbridge doesn’t kill Roylin. She’s injured badly, but she’s not dead. Not yet, anyway. She’s being treated for her wounds when the episode begins.
Kate Wyler (Keri Russell) leaves the room and goes back to the party.

The Diplomat season 2 is getting so good! After two great episodes, the third episode might be the best of the season so far.
The Diplomat season 2 episode 3, “The Ides of March,” begins with a news report of Prime Minister Trowbridge (Rory Kinnear) announcing to the world that Roman Lenkov, who was responsible for the attack on the aircraft carrier, was killed by special forces. It was not a firefight, though. It was an assassination.
We immediately see Ambassador Kate Wyler (Keri Russell) and CIA Station Chief Eidra Park (Ali Ahn) talking about the killing of Lenkov in front of Stuart. Margaret Roylin (Celia Imrie) told Kate and Eidra this would happen, and it did. Now, Stuart Heyford (Eto Assandoh) and Kate would like to turn her over to law enforcement after the main witness (Lenkov) was killed. Eidra won’t do it, though. She wants to learn more about what Roylin is hiding.

The Diplomat season 2 begins immediately after the bombing at the end of the season 1 finale.

Spoiler Warning: This story includes major plot details from Episode 8 and 9 of “Agatha All Along,” currently streaming on Disney+.
Agatha Harkness, the coven-less witch, and Billy Maximoff, the son of the Scarlet Witch, reached the end of the Witches’ Road in the two-part finale of “Agatha All Along” — and very little was as it first seemed.
The episodes — titled “Follow Me My Friend / To Glory at the End” and “Maiden Mother Crone” — revealed the truth of how the Witches’ Road was created, who wrote the Ballad that conjured it into being and what really happened to Agatha’s son Nicholas Scratch. Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) helped Billy (Joe Locke) locate his twin brother Tommy, Jennifer (Sasheer Zamata) discovered how her power had been bound for 100 years and Rio Vidal (Aubrey Plaza), aka Lady Death, wound up collecting (nearly) all the bodies she wanted.
But almost none of it unfolded at face value.

To say that Marvel Television's Agatha All Along has been knocking it out of the park would be a huge understatement. The series premiered on Disney Plus in September and it has had the comic book and superhero worlds in the palm of its hands ever since, with its whimsical approach, comedic presentation, and light horror elements all making it the perfect spooky season treat.
But it's also part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it has been delivering to such a level that it's one of the most worthy titles within the Multiverse Saga thus far, offering up unexpected twists, eyebrow-raising trials with life-or-death stakes, and reveals that - though some predicted - come about in the most unanticipated of ways.
That much was true in the fifth episode of the series when it was revealed that Teen, the sweet innocent boy that Agatha Harkness herself was beginning to grow quite fond of,...

Well, we made it; the Agatha All Along finale has arrived. It's been quite the journey over the course of these past seven weeks, walking the Witches' Road with the most dysfunctional coven TV may have ever seen, but the Disney Plus series has been nothing short of delightful from start through finish. A little terrifying here and there, but delightful nonetheless.
The events of the shocking eighth episode brought the main crux of the story to a close as Agatha Harkness and Rio Vidal, a.k.a. Death squared off. And with Agatha having fully obtained her powers again, it was quite a showdown to behold. However it resulted in some unexpected twists and turns that left fans feeling a certain kind of way. But what does it all mean for the future of the MCU?

If you still haven’t heard the earworm that is the “Ballad of the Witches’ Road,” from Marvel’s Agatha All Along count yourself lucky, because it is catchy. There are even multiple versions of the song, an original masterpiece by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez with various lyrics, which are fun to decipher. For example, Lorna Wu’s version of the ballad contains different verses than the original one sung by Agatha’s ragtag coven. Japanese Breakfast even covered a new pop version of the ballad, produced by Jack Antonoff.
Florence + the Machine’s song “Seven Devils” was used in a teaser trailer for the show. Showrunner Jac Schaeffer even made a musical nod to Dolly Parton’s song “Jolene,” hinting that Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha was the inspiration for that song in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Spoiler Alert: This story discusses major plot points for “Agatha All Along,” currently streaming on Disney Plus.
If there is one thing known about Marvel is that no detail is perchance: scenery, wardrobe, little lines of dialogue here and there. All these small additions tend to be easter eggs that fans later meticulously rewind for and analyze trying to comprehend the foreshadowing they might entail. One of the most noticeable methods this is done through is outfit choices. And, the wardrobe in the new Marvel series “Agatha All Along” highlighted more than just figures.

The end of the witches’ road has seemingly come on “Agatha All Along” — unless the show gets a surprise second season renewal — with the finale hitting Disney+ on Wednesday night. And heading into it, there are a few big questions left.
First, let’s get caught up. At this point, only Agatha (Kathryn Hahn), Billy (Joe Locke) and Jen (Sasheer Zamata) are left in the coven, with the others dying in earlier episodes. Death herself is still on the table, too, as we officially found out last week that Rio Vidal (Aubrey Plaza) is, in fact, Lady Death.
By our count, there are two trials left for the group to pass, assuming Rio does get her own. And if/when that happens, what comes next? We’ll certainly find out, but first, let’s run down the answers we definitely want to see in the episodes.
1. Is Tommy Alive?

"Rio Vidal" (Aubrey Plaza) warned that all roads lead to her in last week's episode of Agatha All Along, and tonight's season finale will see Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) face Death (literally) for what might well be the last time.
Harkness built a reputation for being an especially evil and ruthless witch over the years, but it seems at least some of her wicked deeds have either been exaggerated or outright lies.
In this new clip, Lady Death asks her former lover why she allows "them to believe those things about you? About Nicky?" We had been led to believe that Agatha sacrificed her own son, Nicholas Scratch, to Mephisto in order to acquire the Darkhold, but clearly there's a lot more to the story - though Harkness' response suggests that what really happened might be even worse.
Check out the clip and a new teaser at the links below,...

‘The Diplomat’ Season 2 Review: Keri Russell Is Stellar in Netflix’s Sharpest, Silliest Drama Series
“Politics.”
When CIA station chief Eidra Park (Ali Ahn) wants more information about a relationship that’s critical to ongoing negotiations, Kate Wyler (Keri Russell) has a one-word response: “Politics.” But like everything else in “The Diplomat,” Netflix’s meticulous and maniacal drama series, it’s not just what was said, but also how what’s said is said, what was said before, and, of course, what’s not said.
When Kate says “politics,” she’s being dismissive, sure, but she’s still telling her friend and ally all she needs to know. By squeezing her eyes shut before opening them to deliver a firm, unflinching gaze, Kate’s saying that’s all she’s going to share on the matter. But just a sentence before, when asked about her “unusually close” relationship with U.K. Foreign Secretary Austin Dennison (David Gyasi), she also said, “We’re slightly less close than we were,...
