The Guild of Music Supervisors has partnered with Mondo.NYC for its 4th annual one day education seminar on Oct. 14, which will once again be held virtually.
The program track will feature some of the top music supervisors in the field today, along with their creative partners and collaborators, who will present case studies and break downs of projects they’ve worked on.
Programming for the sessions was headed by Gms co-founder Jonathan McHugh, who says: “Our NYC steering committee has done another excellent job on crafting a great day of programming. It’s a mixed blessing that our one day event is virtual again this year. The good news is that now people from all over the world can attend and learn from some great Gms music supervisors/producers and some of the creative partners and brands that they collaborate with.”

An old-fashioned monster movie gore-fest that hasn’t dimmed in popularity, John Landis’s slightly twisted telling of a hiking mishap pulled nervous laughter from audiences pre-primed to expect ground-breakingly shocking special effects. Rick Baker delivers the shape-shifting fireworks in a two-minute sequence that goes way beyond easy laughs. The story is thin but the execution slick in a Landis film fashioned from his own screenplay, written at age 19.

Like any magic worth an incantation, Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, opening on Broadway at the Lyric Theater tonight, depends on unspoiled illusions, a delight in life’s wonders and the skills to present it all as if no one had ever even considered its combinations before, much less pulled them off. I won’t spoil any illusions – the production itself handles the rest. Cursed Child is a marvel, a shape-shifting play that effortlessly incorporates music and choreographed movement, classic storytelling and fresh perspectives, a look that incorporates World War II-era Britain and Victorian spiritualism with Hollywood’s latest flash. In a Broadway season of award-worthy revivals, this tale of whatever happened to The Boy Who Lived feels bracingly, piercingly new.

This is no time for bogus expressions of sophistication. So, let’s just say: Hooray! With “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” the Boy Who Lived has finally come to Broadway, bringing enchantment to a world that could really use a little magic right now.
The show’s savvy producers have done a wonderful job refurbishing the vintage Lyric Theater (circa 1903), both inside and out. The sculpture of a giant black raven’s wing hangs over the theater marquee, and the iconic image of a boy crouched in a winged nest can be seen perched on the roof. They should also have spread new pavement out front, because there’s going to be a lot of foot traffic on 43rd Street over the next few years.
Inside, the walls are painted “raven plume,” while a midnight-blue carpet is emblazoned with the Hogwarts crest. How about ravens? You want ravens? Just look up.

With preview performances beginning March 16, rehearsals are now underway for the stateside production of London’s megahit, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.” Having won 22 major theater awards in the U.K. since its opening in 2016, many believe the Broadway production of “Cursed Child” will garner similar praise when it officially opens at the Lyric Theatre on April 22. Though much of the original cast has crossed the pond with the show (Jamie Parker as Harry Potter, Noma Dumezweni as Hermione Granger, Paul Thornley as Ron Weasley, Poppy Miller as Ginny Potter, Sam Clemmett as Albus Potter, Alex Price as Draco Malfoy, and Anthony Boyle as Scorpius Malfoy), there are still many new faces. As such, the cast is hard at work rehearsing, some stepping into well-worn shoes while others try their roles on for the very first time. For a glimpse at what a Broadway rehearsal really looks like and...

Over the past couple of days, we've gotten our first look at several of the main players in upcoming play Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. There's Harry Potter (Jamie Parker), his wife Ginny (Poppy Miller), and their son Albus (Sam Clemmett), who you can see here. Then there's Ron Weasley (Paul Thornley), Hermione Granger (Noma Dumezweni), and their daughter Rose Granger-Weasley (Cherrelle Skeete), who you can see here.
Now thanks to Pottermore we have our first look at Draco Malfoy, who is being played by Alex Price, and his son Scorpius, who is being played by Anthony Boyle. As you can se,e they were perfectly cast in their roles as they definitely look the part. According to J.K. Rowling, "Scorpius is going to do nothing to turn girls off the Malfoy men." So I guess he's going to be a hit with the ladies.

The stage production Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Parts One and Two has been drawing the kind of attention usually reserved for major Hollywood productions lately. The show, based on a story co-written by series creator J.K. Rowling, will tell the eighth story in the Harry Potter canon.

Will young Scorpius Malfoy be a friend or foe to Albus Severus Potter and Rose Granger-Weasley in "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child"? The lucky fans who get to see the play will find out, very soon.
Pottermore just shared the final first look photos to tease "Cursed Child," which starts previews June 7 in London. The story picks up 19 years after the main story of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," following the next generation at Hogwarts. Two days ago we got our first looks at Harry, Ginny, and their son Albus in character; yesterday, we saw the adult Ron and Hermione, with their daughter Rose. Today we have the new Draco Malfoy, played by Alex Price, with Anthony Boyle as his son, Scorpius Malfoy. (No wife/mom? What's that story?)
Check out these individual photos:
Scorpius doesn't look too mean, he may even be a nice kid, and scared of his own dad.

The slow reveal of the cast for the highly anticipated play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child continues with our first look at Draco Malfoy nineteen years after the events of Deathly Hallows, as well as an introduction to his son Scorpius. Draco (Alex Price) and Scorpius (Anthony Boyle) both sport the trademark blonde hair, with the elder Malfoy's ponytail and goatee combo coming across as sinister and intimidating. I love a heartwarming, feel-good romance story just as much as the next person, but sometimes, it’s those doomed cinematic relationships that tend to stick with you the most. One of the more interesting ill-fated couples I recently encountered was Rob (Cian Barry) and Holly (Abigail Hardingham) from Nina Forever. The new couple must endure the looming presence of Rob’s ex-girlfriend, Nina (Fiona O’Shaughnessy), who died recently in a car accident and happens to show up anytime they become intimate.
The pitch-black comedy touches on a lot of the complications that come with modern relationships and all the proverbial baggage we endure as a result of our previous romantic entanglements. It really struck me throughout the story just how well directors Ben and Chris Blaine perfectly explore those themes in Nina Forever, making me realize that some of my very favorite movie love affairs, particularly from the 1980s,...

It starts with a cry of pain. Then a look of terror or ecstasy. And then the body starts to change. Hair grows from the knuckles. Maybe the eyes turn black. Sometimes fangs sprout. Before you know it, the person in front of you isn’t a person anymore. The Transformation can be the most horrific moment in a horror film because it’s where the internal becomes the external. No more false faces. No more hiding. And depending how fearsome the new being is, no more running as well.

Penny Dreadful season 2 bows out on an exhilarating, if not action-packed, finale that sets up the much-anticipated season 3...
This review contains spoilers.
2.10 And They Were Enemies
The finale of Penny Dreadful finds everyone confronting their own personal demons whilst Vanessa takes on the Devil, speaking through the doll version of herself. Frankenstein's guilt about his creations and what they might inflict on the world threatens to consume him as Sir Malcolm is compounded with apparitions of his family. Caliban remains trapped at the hands of the Putneys who are determined to use him in their own personal freak show without realising quite what they hold within their cell and Lily's alliance with Dorian deepens. Finally, Chandler's wolf side is made known to Vanessa.
The confrontation with the Devil and the nightcomers lasts a small part of the episode as the consequences of the battle become the focus of the remaining narrative.

I will be honest with all of you; I am not a huge fan of ‘The Howling’. I know, I know. One of the most revered werewolf films ever made with a huge base of fans and critics alike. By all accounts I should be among them, but there is just something about it I do not gel with. It’s not a badly made film and it boasts some really incredible visual effects (you don’t see a natural lady garden in this day and age, either) and Dee Wallace was very likeable in the lead role, but as a whole, I just couldn’t get into it. The second episode of Penny Dreadful begins with another horrific murder on a foggy London street and whilst not mentioned again for the rest of the narrative, it re-affirms that the city at night is a dangerous place. The focus then shifts to the characters we were introduced to last week, but with some new faces in amongst the familiar. Chandler (Josh Hartnett) is still coming to terms with the events he has just witnessed and finds himself drawn to Brona Croft (Billie Piper). Meanwhile, Murray (Timothy Dalton) continues to work with Vanessa (Eva Green) to search for his daughter whilst Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway) introduces his new creature, Proteus (Alex Price) to the world for the first time.

Director: Johannes Roberts. Writers: Noel Clarke, Davie Fairbanks and Marc Small. Cast: Noel Clarke, Colin O'Donoghue, Antonia Campbell-Hughes, Laura Haddock, Jamie Thomas King, Alex Price, Ned Dennehy, Geoff Bell, Ruth Gemmell, Davie Fairbanks, and Amy Pemberton. Storage 24 is a small sci-fi thriller? from the United Kingdom. Written partially by Noel Clarke of Kidulthood, this film never steps out of a predictable framework. Perhaps, the one shooting location stops this film from finding true heights. Whatever the case, eighty minutes of cat and mouse interchange is not enough to recommend Storage 24 to many. Noel Clarke writes an interesting sub-plot involving infidelity, but he also writes his own character, Charlie, much like a shining white knight. The film and this character are hard to tolerate. Creature feature film fans will be able to tell how this film will play out. An alien crash lands next to a storage facility. Once on the ground,...

Universal and Unstoppable Entertainment have revealed the first look trailer for the new Johannes Roberts ('F') helmed Brit sci-fi horror 'Storage 24'. The movie penned by writer and star Noel Clarke ('Kidulthood', 'Doghouse') is set in a storage building when a military cargo plane crashes and unleashes its classified contents into London. The trailer, which echoes elements of Brit comedy horror 'Attack the Block', looks pretty good and ensures that is doesn't reveal too much about the 'creatures' that the surviving gang are attempting to escape. 'Storage 24' also stars Colin O'Donoghue, Antonia Campbell-Hughes, Laura Haddock -below ('The Inbetweeners Movie'), Jamie Thomas King, Alex Price, Ned Dennehy, Geoff Bell, Ruth Gemmell, Davie Fairbanks and Amy Pemberton. Brit director Johannes Roberts responsible for after school-based thriller 'F' is hard at work on the post-production of his new sci-fi horror 'Storage 24'. The new flick was penned by its star Noel Clarke ('Kidulthood', '4.3.2.1') and is set to hit UK theatres next June. Personally I don't really rate Clarke as an actor but he's a definite up and coming talent when it comes to both writing and directing. Colin O'Donoghue, Antonia Campbell-Hughes, the sexy Laura Haddock -below ('The Inbetweeners Movie'), Jamie Thomas King, Alex Price, Ned Dennehy, Geoff Bell, Ruth Gemmell, Davie Fairbanks and Amy Pemberton all co-star. The ladies of Camelot, Angel Coulby and Katie McGrath, took some time out of their hectic schedules to talk exclusively about their roles in the British TV series Merlin to Fgt staffwriter Alan Kelly.
Angel talks about Guinevere becoming more assertive and the return of Lancelot, while Katie McGrath couldn’t be more pleased with her character’s transition from utterly enchanting to ruthlessly calculated (albeit still enchanting) seer Morgana in the fantasy drama. The popular show returned earlier this month for a third run on BBC One (rerun on the SyFy Channel in the United States); Katie and Angel where kind enough to answers some questions about why the show appeals to different generations, how much fun it is for Katie to play a bad-ass, whether Arthur and Gwen’s relationship will develop this season, if the sorceress Morgeuse can really be trusted and what femme fatales Katie channels when playing Morgana.

The BBC press office has released a synopsis of episode number No.6 in season 5 of Doctor Who, which will follow the two-parter "The Time Of Angels Flesh And Stone'.
Vampires Of Venice is outlined by Auntie thus:
Dessicated corpses, terror in the canal and a visit to the sinister House of Calvierri – the Doctor takes Amy and Rory for a romantic mini-break, as the Tardis touches down once again.
But 17th-century Venice is not as it should be. The city has been sealed to protect it from the Plague, although Rosanna Calvierri may have other plans...
The cast list detailed so far includes Rory Williams, Helen McCrory, Elizabeth Croft, Alex Price, Simon Gregor, Lucian Msamati, Alisha Bailey and Michael Percival.
Following up the presumably chilling return of the quantum-locked weeping angels with a vampire story reveals what many had suspected about Who producer Steven Moffat's first season that it...
