Created by Bicks based on an idea by Ellin and Joey Boukadakis, I hear the untitled single-camera comedy centers on a successful young couple who find themselves starting an unconventional family when a threesome leads to a pregnancy. You've got to watch this hilariously awesome comedy short called Lucy in the Sky with Diamond, which stars Lou Diamond Phillips. The films was written and directed by Joey Boukadakis, it's solidly fun writing with strong acting.
The story follows a guy named John (John Patrick Jordan) who's sulking over losing his super hot girlfriend (Marlana Carter). While out with a friend he finds out that she's now dating Lou Diamond Phillips. Things take a great turn for the awkward when Phillips pulls John aside to give him some advice on how to move on. From there things get even more bizarre.

Everyone loves Lou Diamond Phillips right? Well, everyone does in “Lucy in the Sky with Diamond,” the short film by writer/director Joey Boukadakis. The short film takes the Tony and Golden Globe-nominated actor and turns him into a mythical version of himself, Chuck Norris-style: “‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamond’ was shot over two days in a diner in the San Fernando Valley. The film also stars John Patrick Jordan (‘American Pie,’ ‘Mad Men’) and Brian Thomas Smith (‘The Big Bang Theory,’ ‘Happy Endings’). Phillips plays a hyperbolized version of himself known as the elusive and mysterious ‘Ldp’ – a renegade, spirit guide, life coach character who attempts to help [ Read More ]

Why Watch? The trend of celebrities playing themselves is wearing a bit thin, but holy hell if Lou Diamond Phillips doesn’t nail it better than just about anyone here. In Lucy in the Sky with Diamond, John (John Patrick Jordan) laments losing his super hot girlfriend (Marlana Carter), and to make it worse, she’s dating Ldp now. Fortunately, the star of La Bamba has some advice for how John can move on. Things get bizarre, and that’s before they start talking about the Spirit World. This short from Joey Boukadakis is an Old Spice commercial distilled into narrative form. Pure comic perfection with syrup on top, Ldp is instantly up there with Nph and Chuck Norris (who, himself, is too cool for acronyms). In other words, Lou Diamond Phillips is legen–wait for it… What will it cost? Around 10 minutes. Skip Work. Watch More Short Films.
