Atilla Oener studied economics at the Duisburg University; he financed his studies as a bartender and doorman. In 2005 he completed his acting studies at "Theater der Keller" in Cologne with distinction. This was followed by a first engagement at "Rheinisches Landestheater Neuss", and production-related roles at "Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus", "Theater Hagen", "Atze Musiktheater", "Wolfgang Borchert Theater", "Ballhaus Naunystrasse", and as well as various film and television roles in Germany and Turkey.
Since 2008 he is based in Berlin as a father of three, as an actor, author and theater director. In 2019 he received the BKM grant for developing a feature film script.
In 2021 he took part as an author in the writing workshop Unconventional Signs - new post-migrant theater texts at Ballhaus Naunynstrasse, in December '21 he developed and staged the documentary theater piece "Territory" there. In addition to his creative work, he works as a boxing trainer for young people and adults in Kreuzberg.
