David Samuel Hilfstein was born in Tallahassee, FL, and is a New York-based actor whose credits span TV, film, and theater internationally. Most recently he can be seen on The Defenders (2017) opposite Finn Jones as 'Iron Fist' and featured in The Dead Don't Die (2019) in scenes with Bill Murray, Adam Driver and Tilda Swinton
His on-screen work as the morally compromised Congressman Brian Figarello in the dark comedy Legit (2016) earned him multiple supporting actor nominations at various New York and New Jersey film festivals and critical acclaim with one reviewer writing "Fabulously funny and frank" - Mich AIAFF
At the end of 2017, he was seen on New York stages in the 24/6 theater production 'Looking Through Glass' at The Workshop Theater on 36th Street where he received rave reviews for his role as the lead Jacob in playwright Ken Kaissar's re-imagined Yiddish classic of The Dybbuk. He is of Jewish ancestry on his mother's and father's sides and comes from a proud, rich Jewish heritage and home. David is also the proud grandchild of Holocaust survivors.
