Amelia is an award-winning actress and filmmaker. As a filmmaker she has performed the roles of screenwriter, director, editor and sound designer for a number of film and television projects including her own films which have received multiple accolades around the globe. A highly trained and versatile actor, Amelia has performed numerous roles in film, television, theatre and musical theatre spanning the past three decades and was awarded the Best Actress award at both the 2023 Vancouver International Movies Awards and the 2023 Detroit Independent Film Festival for her performance in her short film, Handled (2023).
Amelia's political-thriller TV series Lilith is in development with producer Thomas M. Horton (House of the Dragon (2022), Thirteen Lives (2022), Brave New World (2020)) and creative producer and script editor Vicki Madden (The Gloaming (2020), The Kettering Incident (2016)).
Amelia was awarded a funding grant by Creative Art Central to write and produce her short-feature film, comedic-horror Mother Tongue (2023), featuring Stephen Hunter (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012)), which had it's international cinema premiere in Sydney in 2023 at A Night of Horror International Film Festival and for which director Glenn Fraser took home a Best Director award. The 8-part TV series of the same name is in development with plans for production in the coming year.
Amelia was involved with The Australian Cinematographer's Society's tech committee in the making of their documentary on HDR technology, with Toby Oliver (Get Out (2017)), Tom Gleeson and Ben Allan and featuring short film Handled (2023) which she co-wrote, co-starred in and edited.
Australian TV Series Pervert (2022) by Peita Breese of Bow Before Me Productions, for which Amelia was a co-director, associate producer and actor, is in negotiation for distribution following Peita and Amelia's attendance at MIPCOM in Cannes in October 2022.
Amelia's other credits in recent years include her award-winning short film Salad Daze (2020) which has received three wins of Best Short Film, an honorable mention and finalist and semi finalist nominations, and her COVID-19 lock-down women's film initiative, Exquisite Corpse (2021) which received an honorable mention at Assurdo Film Festival and premiered at A Night of Horror International Film Festival in 2021.
