Marilla Wex is a British/Canadian actress and comedian based in Toronto. She grew up in a small medieval village just outside Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire, England. She won a full scholarship to King's High School for Girls in Warwick and from there went on to study TV, Film and Drama at Bristol University and then did a two-year post-graduate acting course at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
After spending eight years doing mainly theatre in the UK after graduating from drama school Marilla emigrated to Canada in 2005 to be with her husband Michael Wex.
Her stand-up career began in Toronto and led to winning the Brantford Comedy Festival Rising Stars competition and opening for Tom Green, Sean Cullen and Myq Kaplan.
Her breakthrough came in 2015 when she landed the role of Foreign Correspondent Marilla Wex in the Comedy Channel's "The Beaverton".
Marilla lives in Toronto with her husband.
