You know how they say that money is the root of all evil? Well, let us tell you that family is not far behind. Blood is only thicker than water because of the density of the troubles caused by these bastards. Case in point: the new terror tale As Night Falls.
Directed by Joe Davison, As Night Falls stars Debbie Rochon, Grace Chapman, Raine Brown, and Deneen Melody.
Synopsis
Ten-year-old Amelia's parents think it's time for her to go to sleep permanently, leaving her broken body in a silent shallow grave. Fifty years later Mommy and Daddy are back from hell, intent on wreaking the same deadly discipline on anyone not in bed by nightfall.
Sisters Holly and Elizabeth are losing their minds, and their friends are losing their heads. Something evil has crashed the party, but no one knows what they are fighting. When the girls' brother, Charlie, arrives,...

Some trailers focus on grossing you out. The bloody mouths, the stumped limbs, the overall yuck factor of it all. Some trailers focus on sexual deviancy, up-skirt shots, copulating with members of the clergy or fornicating behind a butcher's counter. The ambitious filmmakers behind Psycho Street decided to just go on ahead and throw it all into one pretty extreme trailer. Wow.
Psycho Street is a three-part anthology film starring Tiffany Shepis as the best looking version of the Crypt Keeper we've ever seen, welcoming you to the twisted town of Kronanburg where things ... well, things tend to get fucked up. And even though the film has already been picked up by R-Squared for a 2012 release, we thought you'd like to be the first on your block to take an early look at this intriguing Nsfw (that's Not Safe For Work for you cubicle jockeys prowling the internet on company time) trailer.

It was a little over a year ago that we first heard about Dennis Willman's new comic series Ginger-Stein: Rise of the Undead, and now that the first issue is about to launch on Tuesday, October 11th, we have a lot more details and an image gallery to share.
From the Press Release:
On October 11th artistic mastermind Dennis Willman reveals his newest creation, Ginger-Stein, to the world. Ginger-Stein is the title of a multimedia horror/sci-fi project that is written, created, and illustrated by Willman and is unlike anything the horror audience has ever seen.
Ginger-Stein: Rise of the Undead is the first in a set of six comic book mini-series featuring horror’s hottest new heroine. The story and artwork are deeply rooted in 1980’s horror and sci-fi nostalgia. The violence is over-the-top, and like any good 80’s horror story, there’s sex, drugs, and a breaking of...

I am increasingly amazed by how gorgeous Deneen Melody's fantasy crime thriller looks.
The first few images really grabbed my attention, and then the teaser trailer proved that there's so much atmosphere to this movie. Now that filming is complete, the filmmakers have released a bunch of brand new stills of the fairy-ish woodland creatures that inhabit Lilly's (played by Deneen Melody, who also wrote the script) alternate universe as she tries to escape her and her sister's dark, gritty, and violent existence in a stark urban landscape.
This film, which is an adaptation of the Brothers Grimm story Snow White, Rose Red, when compared to recent images of the two major Snow White big-budget adaptations coming out from major studios, certainly looks better to me. There's something distinctly "Ridely Scott's Legend" in these images, but more colorful and less frightening. As soon as the new trailer is out,...

There are a couple of things you should know about me. One, I’m incredibly pompous. To be honest, I’m about the most pompous blow hard you’ll ever know. The biggest. The worst. The most. Consider yourself in the company of the prince of pomposity. Secondly, for all my glorious (and they truly are) faults, I’m also the first to admit when I’m wrong, and that’s why I’m in love with Anthony Sumner’s short film “Lewis.” Watching it got me to revel in both of my biggest character traits.
Within the first minutes of “Lewis” I found myself spacing off a bit, counting the films from the 70’s that were being ripped off. I was watching riffs on “Rosemary’s Baby” and hues of “The Omen.” There were bits of “The Wicker Man” being showcased before me and...

Dig on these Exclusive Nsfw Stills that director Anthony G. Sumner, don't show your kids or memaw this shit! Psycho Street is another cool film I'm close to and been following for a long time. The horror anthology has a really cool and insane segment called "Lewis", sounds pretty tame and simple but it'll shock, floor and possibly offend you, it pushed the envelope as far or futher than anything I've seen in a long time and will probably make you go pray after witnessing the bloody carnage that is "Lewis".
If you've been missing that 70's horror feel then this is what you've been looking for, devil worship, sacrifice, blood, gore and nudity all in one segment! I have a lot of friends invloved with "Lewis" and the entire anthology and I'm happy to see all of this come together!

Rose White is a modern film adaptation of the Brothers Grimm Snow White, Rose Red fairy tale written by Deneen Melody, who also produces and stars.
Melody stars alongside Erin Breen (Rose Red), and from the initial photography and teaser trailer we can tell that it's eerily beautiful and tragic. We're practically squealing. Fairy tale adaptations are one of my favorite genres of film, whether they be drama, horror, sci-fi or beyond. Melody is a talented actress who obviously harbors creative storytelling abilities, and she created the story and is producing Rose White. Brian Kilborn and Daniel Kuhlman are directing, with this amazing imagery captured by cinematographer Jeremy Kuhlman.
Through Lilly's (Deneen Melody) eyes, the world is a dark but beautiful place, where she and her sister, Rosalyn (Erin Breen), live happily in the heart of a deep forest. In reality, however, each day is a battle for Rosalyn, who...

In the course of the film, their needs to be an even greater connection to the character then usual, because viewers need to sympathize with the character and feel sorry for the person. Garry Charles, author of Hammerhead: A Summer of Massacre, has joined forces with Ron Purtee, creator of The Social Media Massacre, and the dastardly duo have announced their upcoming film collaboration Inside.
"Oddly enough, we have (Wrong Turn 2 director) Joe Lynch to thank for this,” Purtee (pictured right) said. “I won a contest through (Lynch’s) Knights of Badassdom Twitter account, and one of the prizes was a signed copy of Hammerhead. Garry and I became friends, and I knew I had to work with him.”
Charles added, “Having kept an eye on his Social Media Massacre, I was honored when he proposed we work together on a project, something that attempted to mindfuck the audience. And so we have Inside, a slice of horror that will hopefully wedge itself into your mind and keep you asking questions long after you’ve watched it.”

Michael Berryman in Cut "Its Hard For A Family To Stay Together When Killing Runs In Their Blood"
For mainstream horror fans, Wes Craven's Scream 4 is the slasher event of the year. However, for us indie horror fans another film is turning out to be the most eagerly anticipated horror film of the year. That film happens to be Cut from directors Joe Hollow and Wolfgang Meyer. Deemed the indie slasher event of 2011. Cut captures the flavor of Italian horror mixed with slasher elements and of course plenty over the top gore, nudity and sleaze thrown in for good measure.
In Cut, an all star horror cast lineup including Devanny Pinn (Piranha), Kane Hodder (Hatchet), Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes), Tony Todd (Candyman), Brandon Slagle (Plasterhead), Deneen Melody (Slices of Life), Wolfgang Meyer (15 Till Midnight) and Rachel Grubb (Vivid) star in tale of a crew who rents...

A bit earnest. A bit cocky. Fully confident. Brandon Slagle (Vivid, 15 Till Midnight, Cut, Plasterhead) is the brooding bad boy of independent horror and science fiction films who was just recently deemed one of the potential breakout genre stars in the making on our site. And we fully stand behind that statement. Brandon Slagle's undeniable screen presence is fully evident in just about everything he has done. So what is it, that is making him stand out now over years past? Well, you see, with Brandon Slagle the earnestness, the confidence, the appreciation for science fiction and horror, the human aspect in universal truths and / or emotions & the ability to relate that to audiences, it's all finally coming together with his work. It's all finally gelling. You finally get a sense of who is and what is he all about. His work finally feels distinctive and stands out. Three...

Indie horror actress Deneen Melody is producing this fairy tale retelling of The Brothers Grimm 'Snow White, Rose Red' story set in modern times. And we like it so far.
She's holding a unicorn - how could I not like this?
Melody has starred in low budget indie shockers like Slices of Life, As Night Falls, and A Midsummer Nightmare, but her first producing project is very different.
"I'm such a fairy tale girl,": she says, "that I wanted to do something different than the typical horror [film]."
Directed by Brian Kilborn and Daniel Kuhlman (who also wrote and will play the role of 'Bear'), produced by Melody, and starring Melody as 'Lilly' (the 'white' sister), Rose White sounds like some kind of early Aronofsky script, or something.
Through Lilly's eyes, the world is a dark but beautiful place, where she and her sister, Rosalyn, live happily in...

Song of the Shattered tells the story of a young woman who deals with mental and physical abuse and what's left in the aftermath. When road tripping couple June (Deneen Melody) and Eric (Brandon Slagle) pick up Angela (Devanny Pinn) as she's walking along side the road they sure didn't know how their lives would be affected. If they could rewind and change this moment in time they would as they will be introduced to a world of pain and suffering. Some lives will change forever and some will end.
Devanny Pinn's performance is nothing less than heartbreakingly spectacular. Her character Angela deals with an abusive spouse to the point she finally retaliates with murder. This story touches on a subject all too familiar with so many people dealing with verbal, physical, and psychological abuse. What happens is, Angela has gone through so much abuse she begins to mimic...

The first thing people will notice about horror director Alan Rowe Kelly (Don't Look In The Basement, I'll Bury You Tomorrow) is that he is a gender bender, but Kelly has been bending more then genders his entire career as he has broken out the idea of conventionality. At the age of 39, with 40 just right around the corner, he had an epiphany. Bored with a career as a stylist, he made the sudden and dramatic move to horror. First testing the waters as an author, he switched over to the world of indie horror film directing where he won great acclaim for "I"ll Bury You Tomorrow". As he continued to direct films, he also started making a name for himself in the indie horror world as an actor playing power players, agents, something that rhymes with witch, etc. These were powerful, empowered characters that personally reflected upon Alan Rowe Kelly himself.
