Jazmen Darnell Brown
- Writer
- Script and Continuity Department
- Additional Crew
At the impressionable age of eight, Jazmen set his sights on one of the most coveted and rewarding jobs in the universe - becoming a Power Ranger. However, once he discovered the skittle-colored crew of intergalactic crime fighters were nothing more than a half-baked idea from an acid-tripping comic book artist, Jazmen thought, "I could do that too," and switched his focus to writing.
Since then, Jazmen has become a WGA award winning and Daytime Emmy nominated TV writer, screenwriter, and filmmaker. After graduating from Florida State University, he was hired to write the script for The Citizen, the story of a Middle Eastern immigrant who arrives in New York City the day before the September 11th attacks. The feature film was released theatrically across the United States, Middle East, and online through Netflix and Amazon streaming. He also has TV credits on Saints & Sinners, The Quad, Ambitions, Days of Our Lives, and BMF.
As a filmmaker, his short, BLOOM, screened at over 30 film festivals including the Diversity in Cannes showcase, and earned Jazmen a spot in the highly coveted Producers Guild Diversity Summer Intensive as well as a career filmmaking grant from the Black Life Film Festival.
He and his pugnacious pooch, Jeb, currently live in Sherman Oaks, California, where he continues to develop material for TV and film.
