Fans are about to catch their favorite stars from Salem at Day of Days in Los Angeles on November 2, less than a week before Days’ 59th anniversary. If that wasn’t enough reason to celebrate, it was just announced that the soap has been renewed for a 61st season on Peacock.

Days originally aired on NBC from 1965 until 2022 when it switched over to NBC’s streaming platform Peacock. The Soap has aired three seasons on Peacock, as well as two seasons of its series Beyond Salem and the 2021 Christmas movie, A Very Salem Christmas.

Anniversary Plans

Days has big plans as it enters its sixth decade. The celebration begins on November 8 when Martha Madison (Belle) and Christopher Sean (Paul) return to Salem.

Peacock says Dool has consistently been a top 10 title since it moved to the streamer in 2023. On December 2, Days will reach its 15,000th episode. It has also spawned two limited spinoffs dubbed Beyond Salem. Alison Sweeney, Kristian Alfonso, Peter Reckell & More Previously Announced

Fans already know that several former Days Of Our Lives stars, including Melissa Reeves, will be back on-screen in November to honor the late Bill Hayes, who passed away in January 2024.

But the returns continue into 2025 to help celebrate the show’s 60th anniversary. It was previously announced that Alison Sweeney will return as Sami Brady. Furthermore, Bo and Hope, played by Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso, are returning for a special storyline.

Currently in its 60th season, “Days of our Lives” is bulking up on the returns of several fan favorites following the recently announced Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady), and the return of “Bope,” played by Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady) and Peter Reckell (Bo Brady).

The 60th anniversary celebration hasn’t even started on Days of Our Lives but EP Ken Corday is already fine-tuning the guest list for 2025.

In addition to bringing back Alison Sweeney as Sami, Peter Reckell (Bo) and Kristian Alfonso (Hope) for the celebration, Leann Hunley (Anna) and Chandler Massey (Will) are also set to appear in future episodes, as well as Christie Clark (Carrie), Thaao Penghlis (Tony), Melissa Reeves (Jennifer), Victoria Konefal (Ciara), Charles Shaughnessy (Shane) and Matthew Ashford (Jack).

Their episodes are expected to stream in June on Peacock.

When Sophia was first introduced in Salem, it was as Holly’s (Ashley Puzemis) Bff. But if quickly became clear that Sophia had a crush on Holly’s boyfriend, Tate (Leo Howard), and wasn’t as sweet and innocent as she appeared.

Every great villain has a backstory, and Sophia’s is justified. When she asked Tate to the prom, he only said yes to make sure his relationship with Holly remained a secret. But once Sophia overheard Tate discuss his scheme with Aaron (Louis Tomeo), that’s when a villainess was born.

Days of our Lives has had several serial killers in Salem, from The Salem Strangler of the ’80s to the soap’s latest, Killer Connie. Let’s take a look back at some of the best serial killer storylines throughout the years.

Salem’s Serial Killers

Days has had six major serial killers over the past six decades, starting with The Salem Strangler in 1982, who killed three women while harboring an obsession with Marlena (Deidre Hall). He was followed by Andre (ex-Thaao Penghlis) as The Salem Slasher in 1993 and Jack’s (ex-Matthew Ashford) stepfather as The Riverfront Knifer in 1987.

Salem didn’t see any more serial killing until the early 2000s when The Salem Stalker arose for a murder mystery that ended with a major twist. Next came The Necktie Killer, who offed several beloved Salemites in 2015, followed by Salem’s newest crazy killer, Connie.

Connie and her delusions live on. With Connie’s (Julie Dove) arrest, her reign of terror is over…for now. We say for now because she’ll either go to jail or Bayview. If she does end up in the psychiatric facility, she could put a tamp on all her crazy and escape. Or convince them that she’s suddenly cured. Nobody puts Connie in a corner for long.

That place isn’t completely known for its security. So, is this the end of Connie’s crime spree, or are we just on a break? Villains tend to make many, many return appearances in Salem.
