Julia Faye West was born on November 4th, 1985 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She began acting
classes for stage artists in preschool and kindergarten. Her education
remained in the performing artists realm for over a decade in the
Midwest. Throughout childhood and adolescence, she participated in
plays and Improv ComedySportz on stage. Her parents were working class
students who divorced when she was 5 years old. In a 2011 interview,
Julia spoke of her parents teaching her tenacity, "by following their
dreams, despite the challenges of independence and humble beginnings."
Her mother became a national motivational speaker and published author
when Julia was 9. Her father became a medical doctor (a few years
later.)
Julia lived alone with her mom for 11 years. During this time they co-authored children's and motivational books. She performed on stage, television, and radio shows over 100 times as a motivational speaker with her mom. She was home-schooled due to their frequent traveling and work schedule. Throughout their tandem career, Julia continued to receive steady private coaching with instructor's from The Milwaukee Performing Arts Center.
By 18 years old, Julia was living independently. After a brief stint in Arizona, she moved to Los Angeles to continue her pursuits as a performing artist. She worked odd jobs to support herself while acting on television shows and feature films. She became a SAG-AFTRA member. Julia put herself through USC, classes and coaching by Howard Fine, The Actors Studio West, Actors Workshop Studios,The Aquila/Morong Studio, and ongoing education. Julia resides in Los Angeles, and has spent several years focused foremost on raising her child. She has one young son, who now participates in performances, appearances, and charity work alongside his mother.
