Were you bullied at school? It’s a difficult thing to deal with and it can leave lasting scars, changing the way we deal with stressful situations as adults. In Adam Dick’s Teacher, David Dastmalchian plays James, an English teacher going through a stressful divorce who is reminded of his own past traumas when he sees the way that two of the young people in his class are mistreated by their peers. In seeking to find a solution, however, James ends up going to some very dark places. As David doesn’t take on a lot of leading roles, I ask him what it was that attracted him to this one.

The film is about an English teacher who tries to fight back against a bully at the school where he works. David Dastmalchian stars as James Lewis, a teacher who decides to defend his favorite student from being constantly bullied by a rich, privileged, asshole kid. But he ends up going to disturbing lengths to protect them when he must confront the kid's well-connected, wealrgy father, played by Kevin Pollak. The cast includes Matthew Garry, Curtis Edward Jackson, Esme Perez, Helen Joo Lee, Alejandro Raya, Cedric Young, and Ilyssa Fradin. This seems like it might be inspired a bit by Falling Down, about a man who spirals out of control for vengeance. It's intense. Castings

Henry Winkler and Rosa Salazar have joined Jessica Barden in the drama “Pink Skies Ahead,” the first feature film from Greg Silverman’s Stampede.

Winkler will play a doctor who used to be the pediatrician to Barden’s character, who she visits when she discovers something alarming. Rosa Salazar (“Alita: Battle Angel”) will portray her best friend. Lewis Pullman and Devon Bostick have also joined the cast.

The Kelly Oxford film, which will begin production this June in Los Angeles, tells the story of a wild young woman whose life unravels after dropping out of college, moving in with her parents, and being diagnosed with an anxiety disorder.
