Gregory Voigt was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Special Education attorney Mark William Voigt and local theatre and cabaret artist Mary Anuzzi Voigt. He started his career as a child actor, appearing in such films as "Argyle" and "Law Abiding Citizen." Voigt transitioned to directing at age 14, when he attended the Manhattan Film Institute and wrote, directed and edited the acclaimed short films "The Dock" and "Interrogation." At age 17, he participated in a four-week summer film program at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts, where he wrote and directed the short film "Familiar."
While attending Boston University, Voigt produced, co-wrote the story and secured distribution for the acclaimed psychological horror film "Exit 0." "Exit 0" features Peter Greene ("The Usual Suspects," "Pulp Fiction") and Federico Castelluccio ("The Sopranos," "Cabrini") and stars Gabe Fazio ("A Star is Born," "Maestro") as a man tormented by a childhood trauma. Voigt has also worked as a script reader for numerous production companies and is a frequent volunteer for the Screamfest Horror Film Festival in Los Angeles.
In 2023, Voigt wrote, directed and co-edited the short horror film "Monophobia," starring Taylor Garriga and Federico Castelluccio. "Monophobia" focuses on a young man who suffers from the pathological fear of being alone and who must confront a malevolent supernatural entity. The film had its world premiere at the Nevermore Film Festival in Durham, North Carolina, and will screen at both the Phoenix Film Festival/International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival and Chicago Horror Film Festival in the spring of 2024. The film also made the final hot list for the the Cleveland International Film Festival's 2024 lineup.
Voigt lives in Los Angeles, where he actively pursues his career as a writer, producer, editor and director.
