The team behind ‘Meet Cute’ dropped the Telugu streaming anthology’s trailer on Thursday. The teaser released recently had introduced the lead characters and showcased their rollercoaster emotions; the trailer offers a sneak peek into the stories.

The trailer begins with the voice-over of ‘Natural Star’ Nani, who is presenting the anthology. He explains the meaning of ‘Meet Cute’: “When two strangers meet accidentally, cute situations, the conversations that they have, and a memory that will last a lifetime.”

Some urban love stories with varied emotions between different lovebirds are set to unfold in the Ott series to stream on SonyLIV. The message that the anthology conveys is – “we only fight with those we love, for what we love”.

The anthology is helmed by Deepthi Ganta, the cinematography is by Vasanth Kumar, while the music is by Vijay Bulganin. While Garry B H took care of editing, Avinash Kolla is the production designer.

Lucknow, Oct (Ians) Ghumanehra Riser’s Academy, Sports Hostel Odisha, Sports Authority of India ‘A’, Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre, Anantapur Hockey Academy and Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy were all in brilliant form, finishing up as winners in their respective games on the seventh day of the Khelo India Women’s Hockey League (Under-16) Phase – 2 here on Wednesday.

In the first game of the day, Ghumanehra Riser’s Academy defeated the Citizen Hockey XI 11-0. Payal started things off for the Ghumanehra Riser’s Academy and Nisha also netted a hat-trick. Captain Pooja and Sunaina added a brace each while Durga (19′) too got on the scoresheet in a comfortable win.

The second game also saw quite a few goals as Sports Hostel Odisha won 9-0 against Bhai Behlo Hockey Academy. Archana Xalxo and Monica Tirkey scored hat tricks. Meanwhile, Sushmita Dung Dung (13′), Captain Amisha Ekka (40′) and Kanika Kerketta (53′) contributed with one goal each.

The music rights of the upcoming crime thriller ‘Regina’, starring Sunaina in the lead, have been sold. The film, which is being released in four languages, has been produced by Sathish Nair under his banner Yellow Bear Productions. Interestingly, Nair has scored the music for the film and is making his debut as music composer.

Directed by Domin D’Silva, who is known in the Malayalam film industry for films like ‘Star’ and ‘Pyppin Chuvattile Pranayam’, the film is being billed as a ‘woman-centric stylish thriller’.

The story is about how a woman who leads her life as a normal housewife achieves extraordinary things.

Mumbai, Sep 8 (Ians) Actor Hrithik Roshan on Tuesday shared glimpses of the 71st birthday celebration of his father, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, which the family celebrated on Sunday.

The celebration was strictly a family affair, the low-key celebration and Hrithik, posting a fam-jam picture, quipped that he suspects that the family is growing up.

"This sunday was dad's 71st birthday. We , his family with all our idiosyncrasies ended up having a Great time . I think that sentence says a lot. I suspect we are all growing up," he wrote on Instagram.

The Hrithik Roshan-Kangana Ranaut spat refuses to die down. A day after Hrithik's sister Sunaina tweeted support for the "Queen" actress, Kangana's sister Rangoli Chandel alleged in a tweet that Sunaina was being "physically assaulted" by the Roshan family.

Sunaina had on Tuesday tweeted: "And living in hell continues ....gosh I'm tired. I support Kangana all through".

While her first film was a romantic comedy, this one’s a potpourri of genres. There’s action, drama, romance, comedy, and a good dose of suspense. The makers also launched a 7-minute preview of the film prior to its release, so the premise of the film was revealed even before it hit the screens. Bharath, played by Vijay Antony, is a successful doctor in the Us who runs his own hospital. The film, in fact, begins with a dream sequence in a village field. A toddler is in the way of a bull that’s been scared by a snake and is charging down the field. As the mother runs to save her child, the dream is interrupted. While Bharath is only vaguely concerned at first, the truth that he’s actually an adopted son leads him to ponder the dream further and what it could possibly mean. This sets him off on a search that might sound vaguely similar to the Oscar-nominated film Lion. But, the similarities stop here. Kaali is in every way an Indian film and the number of flashbacks the film has is proof enough. Prior to its release, Kiruthiga had said that women writing scripts will improve how roles are written for women actors but there's very little evidence of that in Kaali. To begin with, the four female leads in the film have minimal screen time and although they push the story forward, they leave only a fleeting impression on the audience. While this is still understandable, dialogues like ‘udane love panrava vena emathuva, romba naal alaya vittu love panra paaru, ava ematha maata’ (a girl who immediately accepts your love might leave you and go, but a girl who lets you wait for long and then accepts your love will not leave you) and ‘amma yaaru nu theriyama visaricha paravalla, appa yaaru nu visaricha nalla irukadhu’ (it is all right if one doesn’t know who his mother is but it is not nice if one were to go asking who his father is) are entrenched in patriarchal ideas and come off disappointing. Yogi Babu does a great job with the delivery of his comic lines and although it's not a laughter fest, at least they don't leave us cringing. Vijay Antony has evolved in his acting skills and the film gives him plenty of meat to prove his mettle. The film’s background score is appreciable and so are the stunt sequences. Amritha Aiyer and Shilpa Manjunath, both debut actors, have done a fairly good job with whatever limited screen time they could get. Anjali flits in and out through the film and Sunaina has very little to do to leave an impact. All the women, invariably fall in love with the people they are meant to. The film’s sound team has done a good job, especially during the action scenes. Kaali does not rush through at all and the screenplay can seem like a stretch at some point. Except for the preposterous sequence of events that build up to the climax, the film is a well-packed drama. This forced William Alexander to file a petition seeking compensation to the tune of Rs 4.73 crores. The Bench, on hearing the case, ordered the stay to be lifted on the condition that Vijay Anthony furnishes a bank guarantee for the sum in the name of Registrar General of the High Court towards the amount of the civil suit which is pending adjudication before it in the matter. Indian director Anurag Kashyap’s rowdy boxing drama is packed with thrilling punches

The title of the latest film from Indian independent cinema’s prolific maverick Anurag Kashyap refers to the central character, aspiring boxer Shravan (Vineet Kumar Singh). But it could just as easily refer to Kashyap himself. His film-making is boisterous, unruly and frequently a little slapdash. But for all the rowdy anarchy and the inconsistency of the storytelling, Kashyap’s films have an unpredictable energy that can be genuinely thrilling to watch. This is certainly true of this politics-infused sports melodrama.

Really, we couldn’t hope for a better start to our movie-going spree in 2018. Mukkabaaz is many things at the same time. To begin with it is…no, it not just an ode to pugilism. It is an ode to that thing called love.

Mukkabaaz is Anurag Kashyap’s most romantic film to date. It’s about, believe it or not, love at irst sight when Bareilly’s self-proclaimed Mike Tyson, a.k.a Shravan Singh (Vineet Singh, startling in his transformation into a ferocious fighter) happens to see Sunaina (newcomer Zoya Hussain, expressive in her silences).

The sequenc where Shravan falls in love brilliantly yokes violence and tenderness, and sets the pace for what is to follow. This is a film steeped in the ethos of ethnicity, immersed in the culture of caste and gender prejudices.

A new song, Ttitled Bahut Hua Samman, from the upcoming Anurag Kashyap movie Mukkabaaz is getting a lot of play. The motivational song composed by Rachita Arora has been sung by Swaroop Khan, while the powerful lyrics are written by Hussain Haidry.
