The movie of Not Without Hope finds another backer, but loses Dwayne Johnson in the process...
We’re so used to penning stories of Dwayne Johnson signing up for his diet of three movies a year that it’s rare to report one where he’s no longer involved in a future production. But that’s the case with Not Without Hope.

Plot:
A new age begins for the Tmnt. The epic events of the past have created new opportunities for the future and new dangers. Will the Family stay united in the face of a devastating new foe?
Verdict:
Well with how the 50th issue ended, with Shredder dying and Splinter taking his place as leader of the Foot Clan, it wasn’t surprising to guess that the following instalments would explore the power vacuum that the former’s death had created and a transitional phase of the series. This is all extremely interesting as we get to see the points of view of various characters, including characters we already know and new ones that are introduced in this run of issues between #51 to #55.
So firstly we get to see what is happening with Splinter, Leo,...

The Rock is heading to sea for his latest big-screen venture. After starring in Fast & Furious 6 and Hercules, Dwayne Johnson has been tapped to topline Not Without Hope, a survival drama to be adapted from the book of the same name.
Relativity is building the project around Johnson and has set E. Nicholas Mariani to adapt Nick Schuyler’s true survival story. Johnson will portray Schuyler, who was one of four friends who capsized during a deep-sea fishing trip and struggled to survive. All four friends were athletes; Schuyler was joined on the ill-fated voyage by NFL players Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith, and former University of South Florida player Will Bleakley.
Here’s more on Schuyler’s book, courtesy of Amazon:

The Rock has another film on his slate, as he signs up for Not Without Hope...
Maybe we should just take the plunge one of these days and start a regular feature entitled Rock Watch, dedicated to the growing slate of projects for Hollywood's hardest working action hero. It seems that barely a week passes without the great man attaching himself to another project.
The latest film he's attached to is an adaptation of Nick Schuyler's best selling novel Not Without Hope for Relativity. The book is based on a fishing trip the author took with some friends (two of whom are NFL players Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith) in the Gulf of Mexico. Things took a turn for the worse when the boat capsized, leaving them stranded at sea and fighting for survival.
It certainly sounds interesting and should give Johnson ample opportunity...

No rest for Dwayne Johnson apparently. This dude just continues to pile on project after project, after project, etc... I don't know where he finds the time. He starred in 5 movies this year, and currently is booked for at least 5 in 2014. And let's not forget his TV show, and his sometime appearance on WWF and WWE. We can add this to his upcoming slate... The actor is attached to star in Relativity Media’s adaptation of the best-selling memoir Not Without Hope by Nick Schuyler, which follows four friends - Schuyler along with NFL players Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith, as well as Schuyler’s best friend, Will Bleakley, a former University of South Florida football player - on a...

Dwayne Johnson is set to star in a survivalist drama based on actual events called Not Without Hope. The film will be an adaptation of Nick Schuyler's 2010 memoir, which follows four friends that include Schuyler and NFL players "Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith, and Schuyler’s best friend, Will Bleakley, a former University of South Florida football player — who were on a fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico when their boat capsized, stranding the four men at sea. In the days that followed, the men fought to survive as they awaited to see if help would come."
Johnson will play Schuyler in the movie, and this will be a much more dramatic role than we're used to seeing him in. I think he'll be great in it though! Schuyler had this to say in a statement,
“I’m humbled that Relativity was interested in paying tribute to Marquis, Corey and Will,...

After hearing that Dwayne Johnson will lead a Navy Seal team fighting demons, the actor is getting back into sports (kinda). After playing football in college and starring in the Gridiron Gang, Johnson will star in the drama Not Without Hope, an adaptation of personal trainer Nick Schuyler's memoir of the same name. But instead of focusing on the sports world, the film follows Schulyer as he and NFL players Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith, along with Schuyler's best friend, former college football player Will Bleakley, were on a fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico when their boat capsized, stranding the men at sea. Read on! One would think that Johnson might work better as one of the football players, but Variety reports he will be playing Schuyler. People might also think that four athletically fit grown men wouldn't have trouble surviving in these conditions, but they had no emergency beacon to alert authorities,...
