Back in 2022, it was announced that Fighting with My Family co-stars Nick Frost and Lena Headey were going to reunite to work on the serial killer thriller Svalta, which was set to start filming in Finland soon… but then Headey had to drop out of the project due to scheduling issues before it started rolling in 2023 and was replaced by Aisling Bea, whose previous credits include This Way Up, Living with Yourself, and Home Sweet Home Alone. In August, IFC Films and the Shudder streaming service acquired the North American distribution rights to Svalta, which is now going by the title Get Away, and the plan is that IFC Films will be giving the movie a theatrical release on December 6th. Get Away will then make its way over to Shudder sometime in 2025… But if you’ve been wondering how the release of Get Away is going to be handled in the U.

Comcast-owned Sky will release the original film Get Away, a new horror comedy starring, written by and produced by Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) and directed by Steffen Haars (New Kids Turbo, Krazy House) in the U.K.
XYZ Films financed and handled worldwide sales on Get Away, which it produced with Wayward Entertainment. Sky Original Film will launch the title on the Sky pay TV service’s Sky Cinema on Jan. 10, 2025.
“Get Away is the first film that Nick has both written and starred in, and his passion for the project has infused every element — making it something really special,” said Julia Stuart, director of original film at Sky. “The film has all the hallmarks fans enjoy about Nick’s dark comedy horrors — laugh-out-loud fun, twisted surprises and outrageous gore — along with a stellar, best-of-British ensemble cast. Two of the most successful specialty films of the year expand this weekend and a handful of others jump into an arthouse market that’s seen few new entrants in recent weeks as wide release piled on wide release.
Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City jumps from a blockbuster six-theater opening ($800k over three days) last weekend for Focus Features to 1,675 locations today. A24’s Past Lives by Celine Song, which debuted in early June on four screens, expands to 296. They’re joined by a documentary on epic cyclist Greg LeMond ahead of the Tour De France, and the first theatrical release by Wayward Entertainment, launched in late 2021 by former Revolution Studios CEO Vince Totino and former Orion Pictures President John Hegeman and focusing on genre titles.

The 2004 romantic comedy 13 Going On 30 became an instant classic as soon as it came out. It’s still a funny and sweet movie that I love to watch 15 years later, and it’s apparently still a moneymaker with life left to take it to the stage and screen. Deadline reported three years ago that the film was going to be made into a Broadway musical. The treatment has worked well for the film turned Broadway show Legally Blonde, and 13 Going On 30 has a similar feel-good formula that would translate well to the stage.
The film and Broadway producer, Vince Totino, executive producer of Fox’s Emmy-nominated Rent: Live, said that once the story of 13 Going On 30 hits the stage, he would love to give audiences a live showing on Fox. Here’s what Totino had to say about the project:
