Johannes Winkler is a German film score composer, producer, orchestrator, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist based in Vienna, Austria. He has collaborated with Academy Award-winning directors such as Roger Ross Williams, Dan Lindsay, and T.J. Martin, and frequently works with artists like Klangkarussell, Rusanda Panfili, and Felix Jaehn. Johannes's original compositions have been featured in numerous movies and TV shows, including the award-winning documentaries "Someone like me" and "Netflix Dogs: Season 1 & 2".
His interest in music was sparked at an early age, prompting him to persuade his parents to buy him a drum set. Although the initial negotiations only resulted in acquiring a snare drum, Johannes's determination soon led to him mastering the whole set. His musical journey expanded as he discovered a passion for the piano. Despite focusing on the piano, he also learned to play a variety of other instruments. Over the years, Johannes refined his musical knowledge by studying jazz and classical piano, composition, and sound engineering at the University of Music and Arts in Vienna, where he earned a Master's Degree with distinction.
Currently, he is working on a groundbreaking neoclassical project that combines virtuosic instruments with electronics and tape delays. The album "Space Echoes" is expected to be released in late 2025 and has been announced through the Album's first single "Fragments," a collaboration with Rusanda Panfili.
