This post contains spoilers for the premiere of the new CBS drama Matlock, which is now streaming on Paramount+.
Ordinarily, a spoiler warning like the one above shouldn’t be necessary for a show like Matlock, a reboot of the Andy Griffith legal drama, which ran for close to a decade in the Eighties and Nineties. If you’re old enough, you might have seen the Griffith version, in which he played attorney Ben Matlock, whose old age and folksy demeanor left his opponents unprepared for his brilliant legal tactics.

Cobra Kai Season 6 is finally here and it’s even better than the last one, which no one thought was possible. The Netflix series follows the story of Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who has kind of left bullying and turned into a karate instructor. The series continues the story of the 1984 film The Karate Kid, in which Johnny lost the “All Valley Karate Tournament” to his enemy Daniel (Ralph Macchio). In the series, Johnny inspires weak kids to learn karate so that they can stand up to their bullies and fight to protect themselves. Still, everything goes wrong in a very entertaining way and many iconic characters from the Karate Kid movies appear in the series. So, if you love the teen drama, action comedy, and martial arts in Cobra Kai here are some similar shows you could watch while waiting for Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2.

Into the Badlands is “a high-octane sci-fi martial arts series” created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. The AMC series is set in a dystopian future with humanity in ruins because of wars, and it follows the story of Sunny, a fierce warrior who rescues a teenager with a bounty on his head. They both journey through a dangerous territory known as the Badlands to survive. Into the Badlands stars Daniel Wu in the lead role, with Orla Brady, Sarah Bolger, Aramis Knight, Emily Beecham, Oliver Stark, Madeleine Mantock, Ally Ioannides, Marton Csokas, and Nick Frost starring in supporting roles. Into the Badlands is a unique series with a unique setting, and that’s why it is hard to find a series with a similar setting and story elements, but we have tried very hard to find shows with similar story elements and many high-octane action sequences.

Alyssa Milano, who played Phoebe in the hit WB series “Charmed,” took to a panel hosted by Collider to respond to claims that she was responsible for Shannen Doherty’s exit from the fantasy drama series back in 2001.
While not denying the claims, Milano expressed that it was “sad.”
“I don’t think it’s really that I’m sad for me or for my life or how it does or does not affect my life. I’m the most sad for the fans. I’m the most sad that a show that has meant so much to so many people has been tarnished by a toxicity that is still to this day, almost a quarter of a century later, still happening,” Milano said at the panel. “And I’m sad that people can’t move past it. The Royal Shakespeare Company’s stage adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s best-selling novel Hamnet, a tale of love and heartbreak concerning Agnes Hathaway and her beloved one William Shakespeare, has taken the unheralded step of announcing its West End transfer before it has has even opened in the famous playwright’s place of birth.

The play, adapted by Lolita Chakrabarti — whose version of Life of Pi is on Broadway — directed by Erica Whyman and starring Madeleine Mantock begins performances at the Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon on April 1 through June 17.

But following a “tsunami” of interest from eager ticket buyers, the show will transfer after its run in Stratford to London’s Garrick Theatre for 14 weeks from September 30 through January 6.
If the phenomenal level of interest is maintained, then expect seats at the Garrick to be hard to come by after they go on priority sale from March 28, with public booking from April 6.
The plain fact is that O’Farrell’s engrossing novel has sold more than 1.5 million copies and has fans on every continent.
Her story of the plain-speaking, free-spirited Agnes Hathaway; her relationship with Shakespeare; the heartbreaking death of Hamnet, their 11-year-old son; and how that tragedy inspired the Bard to write Hamlet; touched a nerve coming out as it did during the pandemic. “It’s totally a love story, it’s very romantic,” Chakrabarti told us.
‘Hamnet’ director Erica Whyman
Also, Chakrabarti continued: “Shakespeare is endlessly fascinating because we are trying to work out who was the man behind these amazing pieces of work, but Maggie O’Farrell’s book asks: Who was the family behind him? Anne, or Agnes, Hathaway has had a pretty bad press, and this redresses some of those injustices.”
Whyman had a “hunch”the RSC ought to put it on stage the minute she’d finished reading it because it dealt “so beautifully with bereavement and love.”
That love, Whyman observed, “carried Shakespeare to some of the most remarkable achievements of his life, notably writing Hamlet.”
Liza Marshall’s Hera Pictures already had acquired an option, and the movie’s in development with Neal Street Productions, founded by Sam Mendes, Pippa Harris and Caro Newling, and Amblin Partners. Chiara Atik is writing the screenplay.

However, O’Farrell and Neal Street had a keenness for it to be staged in Stratford, so agreements were struck with the RSC for Neal Street, in association with Hera Pictures, to allow a theater version that would be separate from the movie. Amblin has been supporting the stage adaptation enthusiastically.
O’Farrell has been giving “hands-on” attention to both the screenplay and the stage play, Newling said.
Newling admitted that “it’s unusual” to “shout about” transferring before you’ve opened, but “there was this tsunami of interest, and we were never going to satisfy the extraordinary level of interest during the run at the Swan alone. There is such demand for this title,” she added.

The play’s a terrific opportunity for Mantock, who made her debut in a recent revival of Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit directed by Richard Eyre.
Whyman, Chakrabarti and Newling all spoke of their excitement in finding Mantock, heaping casting director Amy Ball with praise.
“It’s simple,” said Whyman “She has got really old-fashioned star quality but at the same time has got her feet firmly on the ground. Agnes is a hard-working, fearless woman who knows her own mind, and so does Madeleine.”
For the Nottinghamshire-born Mantock, Agnes is a “giant role” for her. “It does feel like the role of a lifetime. I don’t know if I’ll get this opportunity again, so I’m very grateful.”
The cast got to meet O’Farrell during rehearsals, and Mantock remembers the novelist telling the company “that ‘not every person in history is remembered kindly and sometimes they are misremembered,’ and I think we all felt lucky to have a responsibility to look at how we might choose to see Anne Hathaway this time.”
Mantock said that “there’s a lot of pain and loss and grief, but there’s also the love, the joy and the hope. And you have to feel all of those things … that’s what life is.”
She noted the advantages of having Chakrabarti at rehearsals, plus, if needs be, “if we get a bit stumped and we don’t know which way to go with something, we can go to the book. We’ve got this amazing resource.”
So first the Swan Theatre, followed by a season at the Garrick in the West End. The phenomenon of Hamnet is unlikely to end there.
There’s Broadway and beyond.

The cast also includes Tom Vary as William and Sarah Belcher, Will Brown, Haydn Burke, Ajani Cabey, Faye Campbell, Frankie Hastings, Karl Haynes, Alex Jarrett, Hannah McPake, Elizabeth Rider, Rose Riley, Harmony Rose-Bremner, Obioma Ugoala and Peter Wight.

“Charmed” returns for its fourth season Friday night on The CW, introducing fans to a new Charmed one. And, according to series stars Sarah Jeffery and Melonie Diaz, her arrival is going to bring the best kind of chaos.
At the end of Season 3, Maggie (Jeffery) and Mel (Diaz) lost their sister Macy (Madeleine Mantock), as part of defeating the Whispering Evil. But, as they mourn her, the Guardian pops up to inform them that there’s another Charmed one to take Macy’s place — set to be played by Lucy Barrett — and they must find her. Maggie and Mel may be a bit skeptical, but for Jeffery and Diaz, welcoming new blood to the Power of Three has been a joy.
“It’s been really great,” Diaz told TheWrap. “You know, Lucy Barrett is a really positive, fun, loving human being off screen. And it just feels good to be around that.

When the news broke that Madeleine Mantock was exiting Charmed after three seasons, it cast a dark cloud over the series.
I couldn't help but worry that the show would not be as entertaining without Mantock as part of the ensemble.
Thankfully, after watching the first two episodes of Charmed Season 4, all of those fears are gone.
Under new leadership from Jeffrey Lieber, Nicki Renna, and Joey Falco, the series mixes what worked the best on the initial three seasons with some fresh new concepts.
Despite Mantock no longer being a part of the show, Mel, Maggie, and Harry are still grappling with her loss.
TV shows often implement significant time jumps to effectively erase a departing character, but it would have been a disservice to the fans to act as though everyone got over Macy's death with ease.
The truth is, it feels like Macy is still a part of the show,...

According to TV Line, Lucy Barrett will join the show,, but the creatives are keeping many details under wraps until transmission.
“Her name, backstory, powers, and connection to Mel and Maggie are being kept under wraps, because… well… it’s just more fun that way," said co-showrunners Jeffrey Lieber, Joey Falco, and Nicki Renna.
"What we will say is she’s an artist with a wild, unpredictable love for life and a one-of-a-kind view of the world that serves her well in her art, which is her life’s passion."
"She’s fun, irreverent, impulsive, strong-willed and will bring a brand-new energy to the Power of Three.”

The Power of Three will live on in Charmed Season 4 after Macy’s (Madeleine Mantock) exit, and we now know a bit more about who’s joining Mel (Melonie Diaz) and Maggie (Sarah Jeffery), as teased in “I Dreamed a Dream.” In the Season 3 finale, Mel and Maggie found out that the Power of Three wasn’t over, even with Macy’s death, as the Guardian told them there’s another and “she’s out there.” Now, it has been revealed that Lucy Barrett is coming in as the new Charmed One — but that’s all we know so far. “Her name, backstory, powers, and connection to Mel and Maggie are being kept under wraps, because…well…it’s just more fun that way,” new showrunners Jeffery Lieber, Nicki Renna and Joey Falco said in a statement. “What we will say is…she’s an artist, with a wild, unpredictable...

It was a series of ups and downs for Macy, Mel, and Maggie on Charmed (2018) Season 3 as they faced a couple of their toughest challenges to date.
From the Tomb of Chaos to the Whispering Evil, it's obvious more so now than ever that the sisters are risking their lives every day to protect the greater good.
Sadly, the season ended on a somber note and left us wondering how the characters will find a way to move forward. For now, though, we'll take a look back and discuss everything good and bad about the third season.
Best Episode
Charmed (2018) Season 3 Episode 8 was an outstanding hour of television that was undoubtedly one of the show's best.
The story alone had enough substance to pull us in and make us care about the outcome. But then it was taken one step farther by uniquely structuring the story to emphasize its importance and Macy's pain.

The third time was decidedly Not the charm for Madeleine Mantock, who is exiting The CW’s Charmed after playing eldest sister Macy Vaughn since the series was rebooted in 2018. Mantock said earlier this week before tonight’s season finale that she would not be a part of the fourth season. Deadline’s sister publication TVLine reported a somewhat tragic goodbye for the star. *** Spoiler Alert: Do Not Read Past This Line If You Haven’T Seen Tonight’S Episode:
In the season finale episode, Macy attempted to retrieve a supernatural fungus that could defat the Whispering Evil. However, she was overcome and became the Big Bad’s new host, causing her to swallow the deadly fungus to rid herself of the dark force.
A desperate attempt by Mel and Maggie to use a spell to help her sent all three sisters on a journey that explored Macy’s dream lifetime.

What is it with Charmed and season three finales and tearing our hearts out?
With the announcement that Madeleine Mantock was exiting the show after Charmed (2018) Season 3, everyone had their eyes on the finale, Charmed (2018) Season 3 Episode 18, as we all wondered what Macy's fate would be.
Well, we got a definite answer, and there's no doubt that the reactions to "I Dreamed A Dream..." will be mixed.
Macy sacrificed her life to vanquish the Whispering Evil for good and save the world, and this show will never be the same again.
Many of us will draw similarities between this finale and the finale of the original Charmed Season 3. On both episodes, the eldest sister died while saving the innocent.
Maybe a curse follows this series around, but the show must go on.
Mel: We are going to do the lifeline spell again, Macy. Buy you more time.
Maggie: No. False hope.

One might sugarcoat the audience for The CW’s “Charmed” reboot as being “charming,” considering its tiny size.
In March, the (relatively) new sister-witch reboot “Charmed” averaged just 346,000 total viewers across three telecasts, according to Nielsen’s Live + Same Day metric, the lowest tally for any broadcast TV series.
Even CW-mate “Nancy Drew” drew 45,000 more viewers per episode, across four episodes.
One CW special actually performed worse this month than “Charmed,” a reboot of the 1998-2006 series that debuted in fall 2018.
“All American” spinoff, “All American Stories,” settled for just 194,000 total viewers (anyone age 2 or older). But again, that particular telecast was coded as a special, so we’ll look the other way — for this story, at least.
The CW has traditionally had the smallest linear TV audiences of the English-language broadcast networks. The youth-skewing channel is heavily reliant on digital viewing.

Exclusive: Transgender actor J.J. Hawkins is set to join The CW’s Charmed for the third season.
Hawkins will become the first trans actor on the reboot of the iconic show. He joins the cast in the recurring role of Kevin, a transgender male college student who inspires one of the Charmed Ones to take on a very formidable opponent. This is another step forward in authentic representation with a trans actor playing a trans role. The news of Hawkins’ casting couldn’t come at a better time considering this week marks Trans Awareness Week.
Hawkins, who uses the pronouns he/him and they/them interchangeably, is best known for his role as gender-non-conforming trans-masculine role Riley on the CBS limited series The Red Line from executive producers Ava Duvernay and Greg Berlanti. He has also made guest appearances on All Rise, Criminal Minds and NCIS. A native of Antioch,...

Exclusive: Charmed is the latest scripted series whose restarted production has been disrupted by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Filming on the CW drama has been paused for a day Wednesday as an individual from the production has tested positive for Covid-19, Deadline has learned. CBS Studios, which is behind Charmed, is following Covid protocols and conducting contact tracing, sources said.
The CW’s reboot of the fantasy drama, which films in Vancouver, previously shut down production last month for several days over delays in Covid-19 test results for cast and crew that impacted most series based there.
Charmed is set to premiere its third season on the CW on January 24.
The reboot of the series, which was created by Constance M. Burge and produced by Aaron Spelling that ran on the WB from 1998-2006, follows three sisters — played by Melonie Diaz, Sarah Jeffery and Madeleine Mantock — after the tragic death of their mother.

For years, witchcraft has had a traditional look in popular entertainment — pointy hats, broomsticks, spells and potions — and usually white. Aside from a few supporting character examples, Black witchcraft has remained a blind spot in this witchy narrative. There’s no version of “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” for Black witches. So we asked the real members of this varied spiritual practice today how Hollywood can do better for Black witchcraft.
N’ganga Makhosi has been practicing hoodoo in Los Angeles her entire life, a tradition she learned from her grandmother, but says she’s never felt her practice was accurately represented in the media.
“It’s always either someone using curses, sacrificial animals, or calling on evil spirits,” she says.
Hoodoo, also known as conjuring or rootwork, is a cultural tradition practiced largely in the southern United States with ties to Yoruba religious spirits and deities, similar to voodoo and Santeria.

The third season of the CW’s Charmed has added actor Jason Diaz in a recurring role. The reboot of the fantasy drama, which originally ran from 1998-2006, is currently in production on Season 3 in Vancouver.
Diaz will play Antonio, described as “an overly confident but charming classmate of Maggie’s (Sarah Jeffery) who quickly becomes her nemesis.” The series also stars Melonie Diaz and Madeleine Mantock.
This continues Diaz’s relationship with the CW after he was recently seen on the seventh and final season of The 100 as a recurring guest star. Additionally, he can be seen recurring on the current season of The Good Witch. His other credits include Kim’s Convenience, The Crossword Mysteries and The Handmaid’s Tale.
Diaz is repped by David Dean Management and Talent House (Canada).

Unlike her former Charmed co-stars, Shannen Doherty has nothing but nice things to say about The CW's reboot.
Doherty has shared her praise for the show just days after Sarah Jeffery called out original stars Holly Marie Combs and Rose McGowan for their comments about the remake of the series.
Doherty played Prue Halliwell on the first three seasons of the original series, and said in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly that she finds the reboot to be positive.
"What's old is new...and I think it’s wonderful a new generation can connect with three strong, powerful women, not to mention the many jobs the show provides," Doherty said.
This is not the first time Doherty has spoken positively about the new take on the series.
"I'm intrigued by the idea that a new generation might be comforted, inspired like all you were. Charmed helped us all in some way,...

Is there a peaceful end in sight for fans of the original charmed and its reboot?
It's been a wild week to be a fan of either series with stars from the original series and the reboot trading jabs on social media.
Now, Holly Marie Combs is calling to bring the feud to a close, claiming that the issues from the original cast stem from a corporate level, and that she holds no ill will towards the cast of The CW reboot.
"My Charmed friends ... I would like everyone to stop. Truth be told and it will be told is that our issues were and are at the corporate level," Combs tweeted Thursday night.
"And we have the receipts. Just as the new cast were asked to be people they were not we were given ultimatums that were crazily unfair."
Combs went on to give the new cast, including Sarah Jeffery,...

“Charmed” reboot star Sarah Jeffery is taking two of the show’s original cast members to task over a nasty remark.
Jeffery slammed Holly Marie Combs and Rose McGowan from the original “Charmed” on Monday, calling them “sad and quite frankly pathetic” after she saw an Instagram video of the two women trash-talking the reboot.
“You know, I saw this earlier and I refrained from saying anything. I thought, better to just let them shout into the abyss. But I do want to say, I find it sad and quite frankly pathetic to see grown women behaving this way,” Jeffery wrote Monday on Twitter.
She continued in a follow-up: “I truly hope they find happiness elsewhere, and not in the form of putting down other Woc [Women of Color]. I would be embarrassed to behave this way. Peace and love to y’all.”
In the video, McGowan says the reboot “sucks” as Combs laughs.
