Melondy volunteered at the Virginia's Explore Park, an outdoor living history park, in Roanoke, Virginia from 2004 to 2007, when it closed. Her main demonstration was hand dressing deer hides into leather (brain-tanning) at the 1750's sight; although she also demoed skills such as weaving, spinning wool on a Great Wheel/ Walking Wheel, making candles, hand sewing, cooking over a fire, starting a fire using flint and steal, etc.
