Anne Lower
- Producer
- Writer
- Director
Anne has served as assistant to Blake Snyder (Save the Cat!). She created her web series "They Live Among Us," about which pulp critic Will Varaho said "...makes pure pulp by throwing gothic horror, film noir, urban (LA) angst, theological theorizing, philosophical pandering and spiritual sex into a genre-bending blender."
Anne was named by Learnist "a filmmaker to watch in 2014," and has led workshops for the Austin Film Festival, Women in Film Los Angeles, and the University Film and Video Association. She has adjudicated several contests, most recently the 2015 IAWTV and Rockie Awards; the Rockies were presented by BANFF as part of the Cannes Film Festival. Anne's blog, Princess Scribe, has been named a "Top Screenwriting Web Site" by SCRIPT magazine, and Screenwriting Spark.
In June of 2014, Anne broke her neck in a freak accident, which led to a diagnosis of Myeloma, an incurable, but treatable, form of bone marrow cancer. Now in recovery, she considers this life changing event her "Lucky Break", and is working in a series of essays about her experiences to help survivors of catastrophic illnesses and injuries, as they learn to navigate their new lives.
