Lou Cariffe
- Actor
- Writer
- Producer
Born to Lou and Irene Cariffe , Lou was raised in St. Louis, MO.
An alumni of Washington University, he transitioned from radio and amateur stage work to professional stage work in 1965 when the Director of the Gateway Theatre saw him perform in a University production of "Death of a Salesman" and asked him to join the theatre company. He performed in many contemporary dramas by Williams, Inge, Miller and Jellicoe.
The last few years, he has only done work in front of the camera.
Performing in features, shorts, industrial films and commercials, he has carved out a niche as an older character actor. He has done drama and comedy with equal aplomb.
He shows up a half hour before cast call, remembers his lines, doesn't trip over the furniture and can perform the last hour of a twelve hour day. In short, he is a professional actor.
