Some concepts work very well in the indie filmmaking scene. Getting caught in a suffocating space and hiding from evil forces is one of those ideas that immediately feels right for small-budget filmmaking. The 2022 film by L. Gustavo Cooper, Crawlspace, has the entirety of it’s plot revolve around the protagonist hiding from wicked, unknown men who are after the money hidden in the crawlspace. It’s entertaining for a while, but soon the insipid decisions taken by everybody involved turn this taut thriller into a sloppy one, where the payoff is nowhere near as exciting as it could have been. The characters are paper thin, and hence most of the actors try to act like stock characters taken from similar movies from the past. But taking the movie for what it is, Crawlspace just might do it for you if you are looking for a little claustrophobic fun.

"Bad luck for you then, plumber. You've got something down there that belongs to us!" Paramount Movies has already debuted this horror thriller titled Crawlspace, it's out now to watch on digital / VOD services. If you think it looks good, you can watch it right now! A family man finds himself trapped in the crawlspace of a remote Oregon cabin where ruthless poachers have stashed their gains. As the dangerous men draw closer, Robert must decide if the crawlspace will be his tomb... or the battleground in his fight for survival. The film stars Henry Thomas, Bradley Stryker, Jennifer Robertson, Olivia Taylor Dudley, C. Earst Harth, Joe Costa, and Catherine Lough Haggquist. This looks mediocre, but there's at least one great line: "I deal with pieces of sh*t all day..." Plus his homemade Wolverine claws. Maybe it will be good? Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for L. Gustavo Cooper's Crawlspace,...

June, "a coming of rage," horror title will be released by Rlj Entertainment. This film distribution company acquired release rights for June, appropriately enough, in late June of 2015. Now, a release date has been chosen, October 6th, 2015. The film was directed by L. Gustavo Cooper (The Devil Incarnate) and it stars Kennedy Brice (“The Walking Dead”), Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers) and Victoria Pratt (Mutant X). The film's official DVD artwork is hosted here. For more on the story, June is a tragic character. She leaves a trail of destruction as she moves from foster home to foster home. At her new location, she tries to control her demonic powers, until they control her. Now, an entire neighbourhood is under siege, with June possessed by an ancient evil. The low quality graphic for June shows the central character and her ability to move objects. Knives and cleavers will be unleashed in just a few months.

We've been talking about L. Gustavo Cooper's upcoming Copiii: The 1st Entry for a few months now, and today we have more to show you in the form of a theatrical trailer and updated synopsis.
The film stars Rod Luzzi, Graci Carli and Emily Rogers. The story is by Cooper and Coe Douglas with a screenplay co-written by Cooper and Jon Bosworth. It's based on Romanian folklore that dates back to the 1500s which was used by parents as a way to keep children from sneaking out or acting up.
Basically the legend says that the only way any member of the group of gypsies known as the Copiii Pierdere could have children was to shed blood in a particular vengeance demon's name in the form of a cursed ritual. This ritual was named Din Burta de Sarpe, Romanian for 'belly of a snake.' The first time a man performed the ritual,...

I’m a short film junkie. I’ll watch anything you give me. It’s one of the reasons I continue to judge the Killer Film Festival each year. I love to what filmmakers are putting out, on a budget, with their own money, on a small scale. Why? Because they’re trying to prove themselves. I’m sure we get our share of big filmmakers getting back to their roots and making a short or two occasionally, but for the most part this format is festival fodder or the building blocks of an anthology. If you want to earn the write to make a big movie, start with a short movie and cut your teeth. In all of the shorts I get to watch about 10% are pretty damn good. Good enough for a feature length movie that will rival what studios, indie or not, are putting out. One such effort is Velvet Road,...
