Oliver Queen will team up with Barry Allen one last time in the ninth and final season of The Flash. The CW announced today that Stephen Amell who starred as the character in both Arrow and Arrow spinoff The Flash will return to guest star in episode 909, joining previously announced David Ramsey (John Diggle aka Spartan), Keiynan Lonsdale (Wally West/Kid Flash) and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Ramsey Rosso/Bloodwork).
“As soon as our final season was announced, we knew we wanted Stephen to come back and reprise his iconic role as Oliver Queen,” said executive producer Eric Wallace. “After all, it was Oliver who originally launched Barry Allen (played by Grant Gustin) on his heroic path. That’s why everyone on Team Flash felt so strongly that it was important to create a full-circle moment with Oliver’s return in the final season of The Flash. The result is an epic-yet-emotional...

Some familiar characters will be returning to The Flash for its ninth and final season. David Ramsey (John Diggle aka Spartan), Keiynan Lonsdale (Wally West/Kid Flash) and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Ramsey Rosso/Bloodwork) will guest star in episode 909 in the upcoming season.
Ramsey, as John Diggle aka Spartan, has appeared in a total of 10 episodes of The Flash, beginning in Season 1.
“As one of the legacy Arrowverse characters who helped start it all, John Diggle holds a special place in our hearts, as well as the fans.” said executive producer Eric Wallace. “Plus, the commanding presence and commitment to excellence actor/director David Ramsey brings to the screen each-and every time is truly inspiring. So, of course, it was a no-brainer to have Diggle join Team Flash in our final season! Exclusive: Doug Belgrad’s Sony-based 2.0 Entertainment has hired writers Sam Chalsen and Nelson Greaves to write a psychological thriller about Ted Kaczynski, who went from Harvard math prodigy, to the subject of an intense psychological experiment, ultimately becoming the Unabomber.
Chalsen and Greaves began their writing career together after their pilot Potus Maximus sold to Fox with Howard Gordon executive producing. Their blind deal at Warner Bros led to the pair writing the videogame adaptation Spy Hunter as well as a reboot of Inspector Gadget for Disney and producer Dan Lin.
When not writing together, Chalsen moved from writing on Fox’s Sleepy Hollow to CW’s The Flash while Greaves recently has been employed at Apple on both See and an Untitled David Weil show. Greaves also wrote the 2015 horror pic Unfriended, which off a small budget of $1M and a $64M global box office gross, was...

Kid Flash is back! Next week, Keiynan Lonsdale makes his return to The Flash for the first time in a while and these promo images tease the Flash family reunion that’s about to take place. However, Wally West is back in Central City for a reason. And it’s not a positive one. I think the title of season 5’s fourteenth episode tells you all you need to know, as it’s called “Death of the Speed Force.”
This new batch of pics showcase Grant Gustin’s Scarlet Speedster and his former sidekick working together in S.T.A.R. Labs and also teaming up in costume on the streets of Central City. Elsewhere, Cisco has returned from his travels cataloguing the various changes to the world post-Crisis. He wasn’t involved in the recent “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover, but Keiynan Lonsdale is making his way back to The Flash for the show’s next episode. Titled “Death of the Speed Force,” it’ll air on March 10th and the promo above gives us a tease of the reunion we’ve all been waiting for, with Barry and Wally sharing a hug.
It doesn’t offer up much more than that unfortunately, as it’s quite short in length, but we do get to see that Wally also imparts a dire warning to the Scarlet Speedster, telling him that something is very, very wrong with the Speed Force. Ep Eric Wallace has also teased that a major comic book villain who hasn’t been seen on the TV show before will debut in the episode. Who that may be, we can’t say for sure, but for more,...

He wasn’t part of the recent “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover, but Keiynan Lonsdale is finally returning to The Flash in a couple of weeks. Now, the title and synopsis of the episode reveal what this entails, as the fourteenth installment of season 6 is called “The Death of the Speed Force.”
The accompanying synopsis teases that Wally will make his way back to Central City, ostensibly to reunite with his family and friends but also to impart a dire warning to the Scarlet Speedster – that he feels something is gravely wrong with the Speed Force. The latest version of Harrison Wells was introduced at the beginning of The Flash season 6 – Nash Wells, an inter-dimensional explorer we eventually discovered was on the hunt for the Anti-Monitor. This made him partially responsible for the devastation the villain wrought on the multiverse in “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” causing the guilt-ridden Nash to rename himself Pariah – as per the comic book character. Now “Crisis” is all over and done with and reality is saved, but Nash will be sticking around Central City in season 6B.
While speaking to TV Line, showrunner Eric Wallace promised that Tom Cavanagh will continue to play this iteration of Wells for the remainder of the current run of The Flash. What’s more, a new mystery revolving around the character will emerge, pretty much instantly. So, look out for the start of that in tonight’s midseason premiere.

After five months of waiting, the sixth season premiere of The Flash arrived tonight and it didn’t disappoint. Well, to be honest, I wasn’t entirely blown away, but it easily surpassed sister series Supergirl when it came to fall returns.

Speaking of which, while Oliver Queen will seemingly be accepting his fate over on Arrow, Barry Allen is doing all he can to avoid perishing during the crossover event. Even with the sixth season premiere of The Flash being less than one week away, there’s still much mystery surrounding the next leg in Barry Allen’s journey. But if we know anything for certain, it’s that the Scarlet Speedster will do all he can to avoid failing those he cares about in the coming Crisis.
Based on what we’ve been able to gather, Barry will again travel the timestream in an attempt to prepare himself ahead of the crossover. In addition to that, it appears as though our hero will venture back to Earth-3 and receive some assistance from old friend Jay Garrick via, um, “scientific” means.

Barry Allen’s going to vanish. At least, that’s what it says on that newspaper from the future that’s been a major plot point of The Flash since season 1. Now, with season 6 about to kick off, a Crisis is close at hand and the Scarlet Speedster is going to need to try and avert his destiny. And it seems he’ll have an old friend to help him in his time of need.
A new synopsis for episode 2 of the sixth season, “A Flash of the Lightning,” has been released which reveals that John Wesley Shipp will return once again as Jay Garrick, Flash of Earth-3. This isn’t too surprising, either, as recent promos have shown Barry wearing Garrick’s helmet, but it’s nice to know he’ll be back sooner rather than later.

Whether this development leads to Nora only temporarily going over to the dark side or ultimately sees her emerge as the Reverse-Flash’s successor remains to be seen, though my gut has me leaning toward the former option. Still, you never know what kind of surprises the producers have in store.

And though the big bad himself may or may not factor into next week’s episode of The Flash, his looming presence will be felt. This time, though, the latest treat comes in the form of a new promo, which uses a mix of footage we’ve already seen along with some fresh material to tease a warped reality where, among other things, Barry Allen is Green Arrow and Oliver Queen’s The Flash. Presumably, both heroes will feel like a fish out of water when finding themselves transplanted into the other’s life. It doesn’t look like Amell will just be doing a Grant Gustin impression, or vice versa, either.

Despite all of its divisiveness, I believe the DC Extended Universe existing on the motion picture side of things has had its merits. But as a longtime lover of characters originating from that publisher, I must admit I’ve been much more satisfied by what’s been accomplished on TV during the last decade. Hey, when people are capable of redefining Green Arrow and the Flash in a shared continuity bringing obscure heroes and villains such as Firestorm and Agent Liberty to brilliant life, I’m guaranteed to enthusiastically applaud.
Furthermore, it must be acknowledged how Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and the rest of the creative minds behind the Arrowverse have brought concepts into the live action realm which were previously pipe dreams. Over the past few seasons, we’ve been witness to invading Dominators, Nazi doppelgangers hailing from Earth-x and, this fall, the much anticipated “Elseworlds” crossover.

We’re now just a week and a half away from the TV event of the year for DC fans – the Arrowverse’s annual crossover! This time, The Flash, Arrow and Supergirl will come together to form the three-night spectacular “Elseworlds,” which promises to be stuffed full of heroes, villains, iconic DC locations and plenty more.
We’ve been able to work out a lot about the crossover from set photos and the various promos, but now we have official synopses for each episode which spell out how the reality-warping plot will progress. And it all kicks off with “Elseworlds: Part One” Aka The Flash season 5, episode 9:
“Elseworlds, Part 1” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. Et) (Content Rating Tbd) (HDTV)
Epic Elseworlds Crossover Kicks Off Tonight — When Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Oliver Queen (guest star Stephen Amell) wake up one morning and realize they have swapped bodies with each other,...

Having already treated us to a new trailer and promotional poster this month, it looks as though The CW aren’t through spoiling us with goodies pertaining to The Flash‘s fifth season. This time, they deliver with quite the intriguing synopsis hyping the premiere episode, which has been appropriately titled “Nora.”
To be honest, the disclosing of the following description was to be expected, as the network often drops nuggets such as these three weeks ahead of showtime. That said, we should be receiving at least a couple more teasing the next two episodes before the premiere even airs.
Without further delay though, here’s what to expect when the story resumes:
After an unexpected guest from the future, Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy), appears at their home, Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris must figure out how to get her back to the future without disrupting the timeline…even more than she already has.

One thing that makes a shared continuity such as the Arrowverse so wonderful is that not only does it yield those massive multi-series crossovers each fall like Crisis on Earth-x, but it means there’s also room for intermingling here and there on a smaller scale. Thus, you may see characters from Arrow making guest appearances on The Flash and vice versa.
Speaking of which, those two series will again be overlapping before long as Arrow‘s David Ramsey will be headed back to Central City for a brief stay in this season’s penultimate episode chronicling the adventures of the Scarlet Speedster. Granted, this isn’t the first time Dig has stopped by, but the dynamic shared between him and Barry Allen is always guaranteed to bring a few smiles.
So, now that this mashup of sorts is one week away, the network feels comfortable enough to release images promoting it.

Things aren’t looking too good for Team Flash at the moment.
Clifford DeVoe’s plan to hoover up the powers of all the bus metas he created at the beginning of the season is working – recently, he even possessed the body of Barry Allen’s friend Ralph Dibny Aka Elongated Man, leaving his fate in question. This loss will hit the Scarlet Speedster hard over the rest of the season, too, as evidenced by this new synopsis for “Think Fast,” the penultimate episode of The Flash season 4.
When DeVoe assaults an A.R.G.U.S. facility to complete his Enlightenment Machine, Barry (Grant Gustin) realizes the only way he can stop him is if he allows Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) to accompany him into the facility. Still shaken by Ralph’s death, Barry isn’t sure he wants to risk any more of his friends...

Throughout the course of its four seasons, The Flash has had some memorable actors stop by to play guest villains. Of course, very few are capable of eclipsing Mark Hamill’s Trickster, especially when you consider the geek cred that guy has racked up over the decades having played icons like Luke Skywalker and the Joker.
To my amazement, Derek Mears’ involvement with the series has flown under the radar, something I find to be rather perplexing. If his name sounds familiar to you, it should, because his long resume is quite impressive. Having played Jason Voorhees in 2009’s Friday the 13th remake and one of the titular creatures in 2010’s Predators, it stands to reason that his inclusion should turn more than a few heads.

In The Flash‘s Central City, it’s not uncommon for characters to develop superpowers, thanks to the handy Particle Accelerator explosion that’s filled the town with metahumans. Over the past few years, for example, many of Barry’s friends have become superheroes – including Wally West, Caitlin Snow and Jesse Quick.
Though they likely won’t suit up and take to the streets to fight crime, another supporting character from The CW’s hit show will develop special abilities in an upcoming episode: Cecile, Joe’s girlfriend who’s currently pregnant with their child. The synopsis for season 4, episode 12, titled “Honey, I Shrunk Team Flash,” reveals the surprising twist.

In recent memory, I haven’t been shy about pointing out how The Flash has been somewhat uneven this season. For the first six episodes, the producers tried so hard to stray from the darkness of season 3 that they made pretty much every line of dialogue a quip, effectively reducing the show to a farce in short order.
But, with episode 4×07, we saw a turnaround of sorts, as the magic of seasons 1 and 2 was seemingly being recaptured. To be honest, we owe much of our gratitude to the Thinker and all the riveting storytelling and shocking plot twists he’s brought along with him. Of course, I’m keeping my fingers crossed hoping this trend will continue, but the two exhibits we have to present today show that the series will continue going to both extremes.
Since it makes sense to discuss matters in chronological order, let’s talk about...

Now that the sheer awesomeness that was the “Crisis on Earth-x” crossover is behind us, we’re almost ready to go about business as usual. But when you factor in that next week will see each Arrowverse series air their midseason finales, it may take us a little more time to catch our breath.
As you may have noticed, the crossover’s commercial breaks lacked trailers for said midseason finales, perhaps because the network didn’t want to take anybody out of their fluid viewing experiences. Well, thankfully, the promos we’ve been waiting for are starting to trickle online, with The Flash being chief among them.

Even though we have what appears to be an awesome crossover in the form of “Crisis on Earth-x” to look forward to next week, the reality of the situation is that the bulk of whatever plots unfolding across each of the Arrowverse‘s individual shows will have to be put on hold for the time being. This doubly builds anticipation for their reprisals, especially when you consider the cliffhangers that both Supergirl and The Flash left us on this week.
Well, expect some major payoff throughout the first full week of December when The CW airs midseason finales for its DC TV shows. First on the block is Supergirl, which will see Samantha finally and reluctantly emerge as this year’s big bad, that being Reign, in the episode appropriately titled, um, “Reign.”

From Assassin’s Creed to The Witcher, via Mass Effect, Minecraft and maybe more Warcraft...
Latest update: Uncharted delayed.
In the years since Den Of Geek first sprung into existence, we’ve consistently kept an eye on the videogames that have been touted for the big screen treatment. We’ve tried to list them all in a big article a few times before, and it feels like the time has come to pull a new version together.
If we haven’t heard anything about a certain videogame movie in two years or more, it seems safe to assume that it’s quietly been binned. That’s why you won’t find the likes of BioShock, Devil May Cry, Far Cry, Gears Of War, Halo, Heavy Rain and Rollercoaster Tycoon on this list. If we get proven wrong on any of those, we’ll update this article as more information comes to light.

It once had Dwayne Johnson potentially involved - but after a lengthy silence, the Spy Hunter movie is back on the cards.
We've been reporting on plans to bring the videogame series Spy Hunter to the big screen for many years, with the classic 80s arcade game seemingly ripe for the journey in the light of the Fast & Furious series' success.
However, the film - which last we heard at the end of 2012 had Zombieland's Ruben Flesicher attached to direct - seemed to fall off the radar. Fleischer had been talking back then about seeing Spy Hunter as "an opportunity to create a new spy franchise", and it seemed that things were moving ahead. At one stage, Dwayne Johnson was linked, although it seems his videogame of project at the moment is Rampage.
Anyway, fast forward to now, and three years later, we've finally got further...

Sleepy Hollow, Season 2, Episode 14, “Kali Yuga”
Story by Heather V. Regnier
Teleplay by Sam Chalsen & Nelson Greaves
Directed by Doug Aaronowski
Airs Mondays at 9pm (Et) on Fox
It’s interesting that “Kali Yuga” is an episode that centers so heavily on Nick Hawley and Frank Irving, because those two characters are indicative of the attention deficit disorder Sleepy Hollow has with its supporting cast. Hawley, brought in to add roguish flair and romantic interest to the show, has since drifted to the point that even the showrunner admitted they threw out their original conception of the character. And Irving, after going from an implied villain in the pilot, has been shuffled from ally to asylum to afterlife so much that it’s become wearing when the show has to give him screen time. “Kali Yuga” tries hard to give both of these characters a bit of shading, but unfortunately...

Sleepy Hollow, Season 2, Episode 7, “Deliverance”
Written by Sam Chalsen and Nelson Greaves
Directed by Nick Copus
Airs Mondays at 9pm (Et) on Fox
After a string of episodes where Sleepy Hollow has run the risk of feeling too formulaic, “Deliverance” is a welcome breath of fresh air for the season. The show has always done a better job than it needs to of balancing episodic concerns with the broader arc, but “Deliverance” is the first time since the premiere that it’s been able to cede the entire running time to character arcs over cool monster design. It’s a well-constructed hour of the show, one that hits a lot of emotional beats and even draws close to the idea that it might excise one of its main cast before the midpoint of the season.
