Karen Goeller was born in Montreal, Canada in 1966 and was raised in Brooklyn, NY. She and her sister learned the value of hard work and helping others by their parent's example. As a child, Karen's energy went into gymnastics, then fitness, then business ownership.
Karen Goeller is a member of NY Women in Film & TV. She has had a variety of scripted and improv roles on film, TV, commercials, and industrial films. Karen is most often cast as a lawyer, detective, FBI Agent, teacher, doctor, or reporter.
Since 2018, Karen has been working on the crew side of the camera as a Script Supervisor, She said her "work as a script supervisor has helped me become a better actor."
More recently, Karen has written two film scripts, one comedy short and one feature-length drama. The comedy, Escape Artists has been in many film festivals throughout the USA and has won awards such as Best Comedy and Best Idea. Her drama script, Missy's Voice has also won awards including Best Debut Script Writer. Missy's Voice, a story about bullying, is in production with an expected 2025 release date.
Besides working in the film industry, Karen is an author, CSCS, and long-time gymnastics coach. She has given presentations to professional groups including the NSCA, USA Gymnastics, and the Chamber of Commerce.
Karen also enjoys being cast according to any of her special abilities which include Precision Driving, Ballroom Dance, Swimming, Strength Coach (CSCS), Gymnastics Coach, and Fitness Trainer. According to Karen, "It's always fun to bring your real-life experience to the screen."
In the late 1980's, Karen reduced her Brooklyn accent during her time in the NYPD Police Academy. In college, Karen studied physical therapy, health sciences, business, and law. She has a BA Degree and a year of law school. Besides being college-educated, Karen is a trained paralegal and licensed real estate agent.
Karen Goeller has been interviewed on TV and radio countless times and has many short podcasts on the internet. Karen welcomes new ideas for roles and collaboration on projects. She is also available for book signings.
