Jes Cooley
- Actor
Jes Cooley was born in central California's rich farming hub, Fresno,
where he was raised until his mother decided to move him and his older
brother to southern California's thriving San Fernando valley for a
more opportune upbringing. This is where he would finish grades 5 - 12,
the most character developing years of ones adolescence, and where he
would be bitten by the bug who's venom would remain in his veins
indefinitely. . . Entertainment. Performing in small plays earlier in
his school years, it wasn't until a 5th grade adaptation of The Beach
Boys' "California Girls", in which he played a surfer, that his love
for character portrayal and performing was solidified. This experience
sparked his love and desire to act, as well as surf, both of which has
stuck with him ever since.
He continued performing in plays throughout school and post high school in local theaters. Upon discovering that he also had a fascination with film, he talked with a close friend who had been pursuing acting and learned how to approach having a career at it. He found a photographer and landed a legendary Hollywood agent almost instantly. This partnership led to guest staring rolls in top series such as General Hospital, ER, and Bold and the Beautiful to name a few. He continued to hone his craft at various well respected studios and workshops including Hollywood's Star breeding Van Mar Academy, under the direct tutelage of legendary acting coach Ivan S. Markota.
He continued to feature in films such as Life, Star Trek (under the direction of renown director J. J. Abrams), Forgetting Sara Marshall and eventually to head the cast in the very personal and controversial short, My Brotha's Keeper as Sharon Ramsey (a biography based on the true story of Eric B. Ramsey).
He is classically trained in Hollywood and a veteran of the Technique and business of film, television and theatre.
