Sam Reetz creates narrative solutions to complex issues. In 2016, she founded Millennial Ethics to chart a new course for policy conversations between generations with original stories. Having led short and long-form independent projects that range from digital series and immersive experiences to narrative features and grassroots impact campaigns, Sam's work with Millennial Ethics has achieved recognition from media and entertainment, government, and social innovation affiliates including Caring Across Generations, CoGenerate, New York City Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment, New York City Department of Small Business Services, The Global People's Summit, The Roddenberry Foundation, and The Gotham Film and Media Institute. Millennial Ethics' properties include Don't Schmuck It Up, Not One (released), Flip the Script, Just A Second, Probable Cause, Saudade (announced), among others in various stages of development and production.
On and off screen, Sam advocates for creating spaces for intergenerational policy debate and for interdisciplinary thinking to achieve equitable approaches to media and entertainment, emerging technology, and domestic and foreign policy. As a filmmaker, her work breaks down systemic issues into educational and entertaining portraits of humanity and has been programmed internationally by independent film festivals. She got her start behind the lens interning for Ramaa Moseley's The Brass Teapot, Atlantic Pictures, and Roadside Entertainment before taking on freelance roles in physical production and publicity. As a performer, she began her career in classical ballet and local musical theatre productions and then trained with CAP21, T. Schreiber Studio & Conservatory, Atlantic Acting School, Anthony Meindl's Actor Workshop, Heidi Marshall Studio, and others, with credits than span Off-Broadway showcases, commercials, independent films, and digital series. Her mission: to encourage audiences to change their lens on media, society, and culture - to think beyond the individual, take a closer look at what shapes the system, and motivate and mobilize their circles to do the same.
Sam has served on the board of directors of various non-profits. She is an alumna of Sarah Lawrence College and University of Oxford. An artist of Brazilian, German, and Native American (Muskogee Creek Nation) heritage with a passion for storytelling beyond borders, Sam works in New York City, Miami, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles. Sam and Millennial Ethics are represented by Pedro J. Martinez-Fraga at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP. Catch her latest wave of media adventures on Instagram @samreetzcloseup and @millennialethics.
