Sargun Mehta Dubey is an actress, model, and television host.
Mehta received her education at Sacred Heart Convent School and Carmel Convent School in Chandigarh. Then, she completed her bachelor's degree in commerce at Delhi University's Kirori Mal College and started a master's program in business management before dropping out to focus on acting.
Mehta kickstarted her career in the industry with theatre shows. Over her three years at the university, she was an active member of the campus theatre community, appearing in several plays.
After her bachelor's degree, Mehta decided to audition for 12/24 Karol Bagh (2009) and bagged a role in it, kickstarting her acting career.
She was next seen in the lead role in Apno Ke Liye Geeta Ka Dharmayudh (2010). Her next big role was as the lead of the drama series Phulwa (2011), which was a turning point in her career.
Mehta also joined the cast of Ekta Kapoor's soap opera Kya Huaa Tera Vaada (2012). She then went on to star in Child Bride (2008), where she appeared in two episodes. Soon after, Mehta was cast as the lead alongside Rahil Azam in the suspense/ thriller series Hum Ne Li Hai... Shapath.
In 2014, Mehta gave a special dance performance on the debut of the reality show Bigg Boss (2006) and in 2015, she was featured as a guest contestant on the show's ninth season.
Her breakthrough came in films with the 2015 Punjabi romantic comedy Angrej (2015), the year's second-highest-grossing Punjabi film. For her work in the film, she was honoured with the PTC Punjabi Film Award for Best Actress.
Since then, she's been in other hit Punjabi films, including the dramas Love Punjab (2016), Lahoriye (2017), and Qismat (2018). She won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in Punjabi for her role in Love Punjab (2016) and Lahoriye (2017).
Mehta's successful transition to the production side of the television industry began with Colors' Udaariyaan (2021). Udaariyaan, which she produced under the umbrella of her firm, Dreamiyata Entertainment Private Limited, has made major strides since it initially debuted on TV and continues to captivate the curiosity of its viewers.
In 2021, she was seen in Qismat 2 (2021), which was a sequel to the film she had acted in 2018.
The year 2022 saw Mehta starring in several films. She appeared in the romantic comedy Saunkan Saunkne (2022) alongside Ammy Virk and Nimrat Khaira.
