Jonathon Michaels. Born Michael Jonathon McLaughlin in Bellshill, Scotland on June 13, He moved to London at the age of 5, with his Father and four older sisters. He quickly became involved with music, originally playing the Violin and Singing for his school, where he joined the school orchestra and became lead Violinist and although still a pupil had a good enough vocal range to also sing as part of the
teachers choir.
He joined St Georges Cathedral choir at the age of 8 as a 'Pueri Cantores' and remained there until the age of 17 achieving the status of Head Chorister which lasted for two years.
During this period the Cathedral choir toured around Europe singing in famous landmarks including Notre Dame in Paris, St Marks Basilica, Venice and the Vatican Square, Rome, gaining a private audience with the Pope,and the following year, singing a solo for Pope John Paul II on Easter Sunday in Vatican Square.
He left school and to attend Mountview Theatre school in the early 90s, but sadly life had other plans and ended up taking a series of working class jobs including several years at Marks and Spencer, Marble Arch.
In 1997 attended Southbank University, London where he studied BA Business Management for three years. During this time worked a number of jobs including Chauffeur and Club Bouncer to pay for his
education. Although, not performing, Jonathon could be found backstage in London's Theatreland from his mid teens to early thirties, where his brother in law worked behind the scenes of many a famous stage play for Stoll Moss Theatres. As a late bloomer, went back to Music in the mid 2000's after being asked to sing at a friend's wedding, then, in 2012 joined The Royal Choral Society, singing in venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, The Barbican and Kenwood House.
