Mark Mannette was born in Portland, Maine. He grew up in Windham, Maine where he was active in theater during his teen years. He attended Dean College in Franklin, MA where he earned an A.A. in Theatre Arts, then went on to earn his B.F.A. in Theatre with a minor in Cinema from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. After college he founded Port*Star Productions in Portland, Maine, a video production company that provided video services and well as produced plays and made short films. In 1991, he married Alice Kira, a journalist, in a theatrical wedding that was covered in the Boston Globe and USA Today. The couple moved to Minneapolis/St. Paul in 1993. In 1998, while living in Orlando, FL, he became a member of Actor's Equity Association and has remained an active member since. In 2006, Mannette earned an M.F.A. from Mary Baldwin College in partnership with the American Shakespeare Center. He appears as Samuel Moanfeldt in the 2017 docudrama Home On the Range with Buck Taylor and Rance Howard.
