For the past few days, America has been enthralled by the tale of Ryan Stock and AmberLynn Walker, the couple who became instantly famous on America's Got Talent when Walker shot Stock in the throat with a flaming arrow (accidentally). Stock's accident joins a long line of terrifying incidents captured on "reality" television. Below, some of the most heart-stopping. (We're just excluding the low-hanging fruit of Fear Factor entirely.)
Snooki Gets Punched
The nadir of Jersey Shore's grip on America arguably came when the show's diminutive mouthpiece, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, was struck in the face by a male high school teacher at a bar.

Warning: Spoilers ahead from the "Big Brother" live feeds.
Update 1: Jace was indeed sent home on Thursday, July 2 in the first eviction of BB17. He got 12 of the available 13 votes. Audrey voted for Jackie. (Jackie, Jace and James had no votes.) It was also revealed, to TV viewers, that Liz has an identical twin and she and her sister Julia cast their vote together, then switched places live. Kathy Griffin announced the new twist: This coming week, she'd be calling into the house and whoever answers the seventh call gets the power to prevent three people from voting in the next eviction. That's huge. Shelli and Becky won the Week 2 Head of Household competition, so now we have to see 1) who they nominate, 2) who wins the Battle of the Block, 3) who wins Power of Veto, 4) who are the final nominees, 5) who is the Hoh/House target, and 6) who answers that seventh call.

It's official: this season of Big Brother is going to be a lot of fun. The first Big Brother takeover of the season happened tonight, and it was brought on by none other than Phil Keoghan of The Amazing Race, which is another CBS reality show we wouldn't say no to competing on. As Julie Chen explained in last night's premiere, each week, a new twist will take over the house in what's being called the Big Brother takeover, and the takeover's very first installment involved adding two familiar faces to the house. Phil revealed to the houseguests that Jeff Weldon and Jackie Ibarra, two contestants from The Amazing Race's blind date season, would be taking...

CBS has taken the term “cross-promotion” to the next level, adding a pair of Amazing Race alumni to the 17th season of Big Brother.
Jeff Weldon and Jackie Ibarra, who competed on the most recent season of The Amazing Race as a blind date couple, were added to the new Big Brother cast on Thursday’s episode of the reality staple. Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan visited the Big Brother house to announce the news.

It seems everything is bigger in Texas, including Friday’s season finale of The Amazing Race, which featured four couples racing to the finish line instead of the usual three. (Something that’s becoming a trend, if these last two seasons are any indication.)

Hey! Look at that! "The Amazing Race" is, indeed, capable of making at least minor corrections. Last season's penultimate episode was, if you'll recall, a bit of a logical mess. Brooke & Robbie, who I've mostly forgotten, finished first, but got nothing for their trouble, because it was a "Keep On Racing..." Leg. Amy & Maya finished last and not only were they not eliminated and not only did they not face a Speed-Bump in the next Leg because it was a "Keep On Racing..." Leg rather than a Non-Elimination Leg, but they went on to win, becoming one of the two or three least dominant "Amazing Race" winners ever. It was stupid. Because the last Leg always begins with travel back to the United States and is usually an Equalizer, Brooke & Robbie didn't win a prize as the winners of the Leg, didn't get a time advantage and basically did a Leg of activities for nothing,...

I know that sometimes teams are going to get lost on "The Amazing Race" and that every once in a while, getting lost is going to get a team eliminated on "The Amazing Race." But if you're going to get lost on "The Amazing Race" and that's going to be your undoing... Try to make it dramatic. Ask 50 people for directions and get increasingly more flummoxed. Fight and throw your maps in the air in outrage. Bang your head against your car horn repeatedly. Go the wrong way and end up in an ocean or accidentally steer yourself into a foreign country, through a hostile border, forcing armed guards to shoot out your tires. Oh and don't get so horribly lost that you get eliminated from "The Amazing Race" when you're in one of the smallest countries in the world. Sigh. More on Friday's (April 10) "The Amazing Race" after the break.

I guess I can accept that some warm-fuzzies are an acceptable way to compensate for yet another drama-free episode of "The Amazing Race." I wouldn't want to trade emotion and sentiment for tension and excitement very often, but at least Friday's (March 6) "Amazing Race" Leg got something out of what is normally a situation that leaves me frustrated, so... Let's skip to the recap after the break so I can get to spoiling... So Friday's "Amazing Race" episode was a Non-Elimination Leg and it always had the feel of a Non-Elimination Leg, because the process of escaping from Nagano in Japan to Phuket, Thailand proved absurdly difficult and "The Amazing Race" usually doesn't like to send teams home as a result of travel circumstances that are totally unavoidable. And this was a situation in where there were at least four flights departing Japan at wildly different times and even with an attempted equalizer in Phuket,...

"The Amazing Race" returns to Thailand on Friday (March 6) night's episode and it looks like things are going to be getting a little strange. The trailers for the episode have mostly concentrated on the zip-lining and subsequent drama, particularly with blind-daters Hayley & Blair, who are seemingly headed for an epic blow-up. However, it appears that a challenge in Thailand is going to make the pairs take part in a Thai nightclub act of some sort. Normally, I'd think that would be good news for Jonathan & Harley, since what are the New Kids on the Block if not a glorified Thai nightclub act. But this season has already demonstrated Jonathan's insecurity when it comes to choreography. So instead, this may be a chance for Vegas showgirl Jackie and blind-dating partner Jeff to take control? Check out the pictures below and check back tomorrow night for my full recap.

Ooops. Somebody forgot to include the drama in Friday (February 27) night's episode of "The Amazing Race," which was edited with less of an exclamation point and more of an unconcerned shrug. Starting a whopping 29 minutes into the episode, teams started popping up at the Pit Stop and I expected Phil Keoghan to say something like, "Really? We're done?" Instead, Phil was asking people things like, "Is there any romantic connection do you think?" Ladies and gentlemen... Season 26 of "The Amazing Race." There were good moments in Friday's episode, titled "I Got The Smartest Dude," but they didn't add up to anything, because by the time the eliminated team reached the Pit Stop, they'd been in last for the entirely time and they were just smiling and laughing and happy and ready to go home. And if they don't care, why should we? Let's get down to recapping business after the break.

Last time on The Amazing Race, we met the competing couples for the first time. Some of them were also meeting their team members for the first time as the race added five "blind date" couples who met at the mat before Phil sent them off to start the race. The blind date couples joined six dating couples for the competition. At first, I wasn't sure how I would like this new twist, but I must confess that so far, so good.
The last team to reach Phil in Tokyo, Japan was dating couple Lyda Grawn and Jeff Magee, and they were eliminated from The Amazing Race. So who will take the lead on this leg? Let's find out!

With 25 seasons and 15 Emmys under its belt, The Amazing Race is now letting love lead the way.
For its 26th season, the CBS reality competition has recruited 11 dating duos for its next race around the world.
The catch? While six of this year’s twosomes have been dating for quite some time, the remaining five teams have been paired up as “blind date” couples, meeting for the first time on the race and hoping that their instant chemistry (or lack thereof) can carry them to the finish line.
