Travis Moore(XVII)
- Actor
Travis Moore is enjoying his journey, in the entertainment business. Known for his first leading man role, as Devlin Straightlin, in the indie film "The Present" by Terry D. Films, Travis realizes that nothing is too hard for God. His most recent role as Marlin Brown, on TV One's Fatal Attraction, was his debut on national television. Travis's face can be seen in Rite-Aid pharmacies across the nation via posters, brochures and web media. In addition, he has worked with various clients such as Lowes Home Improvement, IBM, Lenovo, Wrangler, SAS, Ryobi and Amtrack, to name a few.
As a little boy, Travis watched his courageous mother, Imogene Moore, defy excuses by raising both he and his little brother, Trevor, as a single parent, with no complaints. With her inspirational ways of sharing her encouragement, his mother made it her business to expose her kids to the arts via summer programs, enrichment camps, historic travels across the globe and reading. His mother always talked about the importance of family and what it meant to stay connected. It was through these moments that Travis became more aware that he was a part of a legacy of some of the best storytellers, comedians and businessmen in the world. Being around his family was like being in a movie with no end. There was never a dull moment and always something to laugh about, although most of the time he was the butt of the jokes. His mother and grandmother prayed for him and kept him in church which fueled him into believing that he could do anything that he put his mind to.
Recalling holidays where everyone would gather in the family room, turn off the televisions and listen to his Uncle David give his best impressions of everyone, who was anyone, anywhere, sparked Travis' interest in bringing smiles to everyone's faces through clean comedy and storytelling. His uncle later went on to write a few plays that he casted Travis in, giving him a platform to learn, grow and respect the process of bringing an idea to life from pen to paper and from paper to people. Travis' biggest fan, his mother, would support every production that he was apart of, with the biggest smile and twinkle in her eyes as she would consistently tell him that one day she is going to see him on television doing great things. "Stay humble and positive, son." Today as Travis has worked and is working on projects with some of the greatest directors and cast members, he carries his early memories of his family with him, as he stands on the backs of those who pushed him to continue the family's legacy.
Travis is a proud native of Greensboro, North Carolina graduating from both Dudley High School and North Carolina A&T State University. He resides in North Carolina with his beautiful wife of ten years, Natalya, and two wonderful daughters, Zoey and Zion. His passion is mentoring young men by challenging them to believe that if anyone can do it, they can. Travis stands on the principle that "the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delights in his way." - Psalm 37:24. Everything in life is about God's timing. With projects lining up for 2017, Travis is looking forward to bigger and better opportunities coming his way!
