Sarita Reth was born in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Sarita attended the private French primary school Lycée Français René-Descartes followed by Vanda Institute where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Business English.
Sarita's passion for the film industry started at a young age after watching Angelina Jolie star in the blockbuster film, Tomb Raider. The movie was popular among Cambodians due to the film's location shooting at the ancient temple ruins in Siem Reap, and Jolie's advocacy for and close relationship to the Cambodian community.
At the age of 17, Sarita started competing in beauty pageants and talent competitions which eventually lead to her landing a role as TV Presenter for BBC Media Action's TV series, Love9. With Sarita's primary passion being acting, she began actively pursuing this interest and won many roles in short films, feature films and web series. In addition to acting, Sarita is also a spokesperson and does modeling and MC assignments for various international brands and companies.
In 2016, Sarita was awarded with the Youth Champion Award by U.N.F.P.A. Cambodia (United Nations Population Fund) for her advocacy in promoting gender equality, reproductive health rights, and prevention against gender-based violence in Cambodia.
Reth was crowned as Miss Universe Cambodia in November 2020 and represent Cambodia in the 69th edition of Miss Universe that was held in Hollywood, Florida.
