Corgand Svendsen began his career as an androgynous model and actor when he attended an open casting call in Kingston, Ontario, at the age of fourteen. Planning on auditioning for film and theatre at the time, he was selected for his unique appearance instead. With a flair for the dramatic since he first enrolled in drama camp at the age of five, Corgand has performed his unusual talents, such as magic, impersonations, and improv, in front of audiences at schools and talent shows.
Featured in numerous plays through his high school drama courses, Blue Canoe Theatre, The Not So Amateur Amateurs, Rideau Islands Lakes & Theatre School, T.R. Leger Musical Theatre Program, and Studio Theatre, his first on-screen role was as Paperboy One in Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak. He can also be seen in Fall Out Boy's 2015 music video, Centuries, where he is credited as a Roman Teen. In the field of modeling, Corgand can also be seen in Novella Magazine, Institute Magazine, Vulkan Magazine, and the online print campaign for JT & Co.
A love of musical theatre began in his high school years after seeing a live performance of Phantom of the Opera, and Corgand began to branch out into singing roles, as well. He has performed as The Baker in a high school production of Stephen Sondheim's Into The Woods, as well as Captain Hook in Peter Pan, Doody in Grease, and an Ancestor in Addams Family-The Musical. Because of his diverse appearance, he has also played Mrs. Peacock in Clue-The Musical. As a result of his improvisational skills, Corgand was also active in live action role-playing at the Peace Support Training Centre for the Canadian Military, assisting in training those heading overseas for humanitarian efforts when dealing with child soldiers.
A graduate of the Performing Arts program at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Corgand has been active in movies filming in the Ottawa area. He can be seen as a background performer in Social Media Murders, The Plan For Christmas, Homekilling Queen, Merry Hanukah, and Dan Mazer's upcoming film, The Exchange.
