Jason Farries is a multi-award winning actor and director, with a successful career spanning almost a decade.
Jason has earned a reputation as a versatile and accomplished artist. Born and raised in the UK, Jason discovered his passion for acting at a young age, and has since honed his craft through extensive training and experience.
Jason began his career working on independent/amateur stage and film productions, building experience and skills before pursuing a professional career. Jason's earliest acting credit was in a national commercial for Waitrose which was broadcast over the Christmas season in 2015. After studying acting in Stratford-upon-Avon Jason went on to earn his Bachelor's degree in Filmmaking at the SAE Institute in Oxford. Jason would later go on to take classes at RADA (The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, London) studying classic and contemporary pieces.
As an actor, Jason has appeared in multiple films across popular streaming platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, showcasing his ability to adapt to various roles and genres. He is best known for his performances in 'An Inspector Calls', 'The Haunting of Margam Castle', 'HOMESICK', 'Cunk on Britain' and 'The Jack In The Box Awakenings'. In 2017, Jason gained a great deal of popularity for his notable performance as Dorian in 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' during a 6 month tour of Italy. His portrayal of the complex character was highly acclaimed by both critics and audiences alike, earning him widespread recognition and praise.
Besides dazzling audiences, Jason is an accomplished Director. Having directed 2 Feature films and multiple award-winning shorts. His first feature length film 'An Inspector Calls' received several awards for production design and Costuming and has now amassed over 2 million views on YouTube, in 2018 the film was awarded Best Feature Film at the Kosice Film Awards in Slovakia. Following on from this success Jason's second feature film 'HOMESICK', (a micro-budget feature created during the 2020 Lockdown) landed on Amazon Prime and was featured in the New York Times, further cementing his reputation as a rising star in the industry. Jason's short form productions have seen great success. The ghost film 'ZMORA' attained 9 awards including: Best Horror, Best Cinematography, Best Original score and Best Ensemble Cast. Jason's other short film 'The Voodoo Man' received Best Actor and Best Mystery Short from the Independent Short Awards in LA. In 2020, Jason launched 'Black Elk Productions' an independent film company which he now operates with a team of immensely talented independent filmmakers.
Most recently, as of March 2023, Jason and his fellow cast members (including Guy Siner and Jane Merrow) were acknowledged with the Best Ensemble Cast award from The Independent Shorts Awards in LA for their work in 'Letters For Lost Lovers'. Set to release in 2024.
