Kayla Kelly is an American actress who was was born and raised in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. As a little girl, she entertained her family by performing skits with cardboard boxes, puppets and costume scraps. She would stand on tables and sing at the top of her lungs, and record make believe radio broadcasts. She was a performer before she even learned how to read. At the age of 8, Kayla began to write and illustrate her own stories, presenting them to her class during show and tell. She knew she was meant to entertain. In the years following, Kayla joined a theater group and school choir; she had set her sights on becoming an actor. Then, her whole life changed when she became a mother at the age of 18, but she never forgot her dream. She put things on hold to raise her family; taking numerous odd jobs, graduating from college and working for an Ophthalmologist for over 10 years.
At the age of 32, an old theater friend asked her to audition for a local play, and she was cast as the female lead. Kayla had stepped back on to the theater stage for the first time in over a decade. She knew this was the sign she was waiting for- the sign that it was time to chase her dream. In early 2016, shortly after appearing in that theater production, she was cast in her first film role. She hasn't looked back since.
