Donnie Ray Waddell was born on February 2nd, 1960 and passed away on July 29th, 2018 at Kindred Hospital. He was a retired employee for the State of Kentucky and a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
Donnie was saved when he was 11 years old and was a member of Owensboro First United Baptist Church. He grew up in a Christian home and he held fast to his belief throughout his life.
Donnie was an avid Science Fiction fan and a talented artist and cartoonist. He is best known however, for his kind and generous manner and his unique gift of humor and impersonations.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Raymond Lawrence Waddell and Nellie Faye Davidson Waddell.
Donnie is survived by a daughter; Marissa J. McDermott; a brother, Darrell G. Waddell, wife - Starla; a nephew, Jarrett A. Waddell - wife, Kayla, and a host of family and friends left to cherish his memory.
Donnie was a kind and gentle soul and he treated everyone with the utmost respect. He faced numerous hardships throughout his life, but he never lost his faith, for he knew that God would see him through even the hardest of times.
While we are comforted in the knowledge that he is now at rest in Jesus Christ, we still mourn his passing that leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled.
