Julie Joohee Jeon is a composer for film and multimedia, singer-songwriter, music director, and first-time film director. Growing up in Vancouver, Canada as a Korean-Canadian, Julie has always been passionate about storytelling through the power of music and film.
Julie earned a Bachelor of Music in Integrated Studies of Voice Performance and Music Education from the University of Calgary in 2013, where she also gained a certificate in conducting from Capilano University in Vancouver, Canada in 2011. She then pursued her Master of Music in Scoring for Film and Multimedia at New York University, which she completed in 2016.
Throughout her career, Julie has created music for film, multimedia, and musical theatre, and has worked with a wide range of talented artists across various industries. Her ability to create evocative and captivating music has made her a sought-after composer and music director in the entertainment industry.
Julie has conducted school bands, orchestra, her own church ensemble, and choir, and she has composed music for numbers of films, animations, musicals, documentaries, advertisements, trailers, web series, dance, etc. Julie has released her albums: 'Fighting Call (Original Musical Soundtrack)', 'Epic Rendition', 'Time', 'In My Dream', and her music has been released in more albums.
In addition to her work in music, Julie has written her film scripts, fuelled by her desire to tell stories through the medium of film. 'Happen to Happen' (2023) marks Julie's directorial debut, and she is excited to bring her vision to life and take on new challenges.
