Valaniece is a screenwriter, producer, actor, photographer, and park roller skater as well as a co-founder of the LA-based production company, Sad Girl Cinemas. Originally from The South of Jersey, she moved to The North of Jersey in 2016 where she studied improvisational acting and sketch comedy writing with the Upright Citizens Brigade in NYC and received her BA in English at Montclair State Univerity. In 2020. she moved to LA mid-pandemic which seemed like a brilliant idea at the time. She's a regular contributing essayist for the website Thought Catalog where she spent five years refining her tone and style as a writer. Her writing style is self-described as "sad-hot-funny-girl".
In 2022 she produced, wrote, and starred in the short film 'Playing Pretend' which premiered at the LA International Film Festival in 2023. Her company, Sad Girl Cinemas, specializes in bringing to light collective female angst through feminine stories and art. Valaniece also loathes writing in the third person.
