“The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh” star Sindhu Vee said she knew a celebrity would be stepping in for a cameo appearance in the season finale, but seeing “Shark Tank” star Mark Cuban was a total surprise.

“[Production] had given me a series of people that they were going to go to, so I had to [say my lines] repeatedly with different huge celebrities, and I didn’t have them in front of me,” Vee, who plays Sudha Pradeep, shared with TheWrap. “So I had to be like, ‘What if it was this person I was talking to? What if it was that person?’ I didn’t know which one would happen. But the energy I had to bring was as if they were there. So when I saw it and it was Mark Cuban, I was like, ‘This is so funny. This is so mad.

Love it or loathe it, there is no denying that Richard Curtis’ Love Actually is a modern Christmas favourite for many. With its saccharine stories of love, lust and, in the case of Andrew Lincoln’s character – let’s be honest – stalking, the film has indelibly inked itself into the fabric of the festive season. In the film’s first trailer, the Succession actor is sporting Kris Kringle’s standard uniform — a beard, red suit with a white fur trim and boots — as he delivers presents to children on the busiest night of the year, Christmas Eve.

That Christmas is based on a trilogy of children’s books by award-winning writer-director Richard Curtis (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, Love Actually and Yesterday) and marks his first leap into animation. “The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh” creator and showrunner Vijal Patel said the dead rabbits that were placed on the Pradeeps’ doorstep and hunting trips with white Christian neighbors were all real-life events he’s been able to find humor in. In fact, it was those challenges that ultimately motivated him to create the Prime Video series in the first place.

“Dead rabbits, white hunting neighbors who are very Christian who brought us on hunting trips, or like, ‘Hey, let’s go hunting.’ I’m like, ‘I don’t f–ing hunt,’ [and they’re like,] ‘But it’ll be fun, like bro time,'” Patel shared with TheWrap in a press junket interview for the show, which premiered Thursday.

Deborah Frances-White is best known as the creator and host of the hugely successful Guilty Feminist podcast. She previously wrote the screenplay for 2018 comedy Say My Name as well.

Now, she’s written Bad Fairies, an animated musical comedy film for Locksmith Animation.

Brian Cox is set to voice Santa Claus in Netflix’s upcoming festive animated feature “That Christmas.”

Due later this year, the film marks the directorial debut of animation veteran Simon Otto and comes from Locksmith Animation (“Ron’s Gone Wrong”). “That Christmas” is adapted from the children’s book series by BAFTA-winning and Oscar-nominated writer and director Richard Curtis.

Alongside Cox, Fiona Shaw, Jodie Whittaker and Bill Nighy have also joined the film as the residents of a charming seaside town where things turn upside down one Christmas. New images from Kristin Scott Thomas’ North Star (formally My Mother’s Wedding), have dropped. The film will have its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and is the directorial debut for Thomas. She also co-wrote the screenplay with John Micklethwait.

Amazon Freevee has greenlit an intimate concert series spotlighting today’s biggest musical artists: “Monumental: An Artists Den Experience.”

The series will premiere its first concert special with a spotlight on U.K. pop star Ellie Goulding’s upcoming album “Higher Than Heaven.”

Designed as a narrative-driven performance program, each hour-long special will feature performances, exclusive interviews, venue vignettes and behind-the-scenes footage to tell a popular recording artist’s story. Red Nose Day is returning to our screens this spring with a star-studded day of programming to raise money for the most vulnerable people in the UK and across the world.

Taking place on Friday 17 March, Comic Relief’s day of celebration will be accompanied by an evening of fun for a good cause on BBC One, hosted by Aj Odudu and Joel Dommett.

Among the exclusive entertainment on the night will come an appearance from Kylie Minogue in a one-off special of the BBC comedy Ghosts.

Critical Role, a media company behind the acclaimed animated series “The Legend of Vox Machina,” has scored a multiyear exclusive overall television and first-look film deal with Amazon Studios.

Under the agreement, Critical Role will produce an animated television series based on its highly successful livestream campaign “Mighty Nein,” which follows a group of criminals and misfits who are the only ones who can prevent the kingdom from plunging into chaos when an arcane artifact capable of reshaping reality falls into the wrong hands. On Thursday, Deadline reported that Amazon’s premium free streaming channel Freevee as given a straight-to-series order to the comedy “The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh”, starring Naveen Andrews.

Inspired by the personal experiences of “Black-ish” and “The Middle” writer Vital Patel, the series will also star Megan Hilty and Sindhu Vee.
