Born crippled with one leg and foot completely turned inward, Roxanne Alese was in a full body cast in the first week of her life. By the age of 3, the braces were removed from both legs, leaving her to wear orthopedic shoes throughout her childhood. Determined to not let her legs be any kind of issue or excuse in her life, she began dance classes. It was painful for her, but she fell in love with performing.
Roxanne would go on to study singing and acting, as well as writing and directing for both theater and film. Roxanne studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in N.Y. and L.A., as well as The Actor's Studio, H.B. Studios, and Theater workshops. She has a Master's Degree in Theater Arts and has been teaching acting for many years. She has written and directed 17 plays and performed in over 40. She has also written six screenplays and is currently (2023) working on her 7th and biggest endeavor. The story of her Dad, Peter Alese, titled "Petey Legs".
Throughout her career, Roxanne has undergone major surgeries on both feet. She also suffers from autoimmune deficiency which causes her to have chronic pain every day. None of which stops her unyielding pursuit to create.
