Sharp, hilarious and light years ahead of her time, Amelia Dimoldenberg is a British broadcaster, satirical comic, entertainer and the creator of the iconic Gen Z dating show Chicken Shop Date. A Central St Martins fashion journalism alumni, she's been able to carve out a space of her own, having transitioned from YouTube personality to the mastermind of the brand that everyone, from rap behemoths to broadcasters wants to work with.
Over the past five years since debuting Chicken Shop Date as a student side-project, she's fronted shows for Channel 4 (Meet the Markles), ITV (Don't Hate the Playaz), VICE (Mystery Girl) and Copa 90 and has written for publications such as Guardian, Teen Vogue and Stylist. Throughout her much-lauded and entirely self-funded video series (49 million streams spanning 30+ episodes), she's shared chicken nuggets and chips with some of contemporary entertainment's heaviest hitters including Daniel Kaluuya, Santan Dave, Wiley, Big Narstie, Chabuddy G, Maya Jama and Krept & Konan, and brought her hilarious persona backstage at both the MOBOs and Wireless. And all the while, pulling in bigger audiences along the way.
In the past two years, she has been catapulted from the social space into the glare of the mainstream spotlight, helped in part by her brand collaborations with Nandos, Rightguard, Popchips and VOXI, the latter of which included a full-scale creative campaign led by Dimoldenberg that consisted of a UK-wide live tour, merchandise and content creation. Her recent work with British institutions such as Comic Relief and Stand Up To Cancer certify the impression she's made on wider entertainment, yet her invitation by Google to present a Keynote earlier this year solidifies the fact she hasn't done this by chance.
A rare and pioneering talent in the space, Dimoldenberg has demonstrated the possibility of YouTube, amassing the support of everyone from Vogue to GQ, Stylist, The Metro and Complex. In the process, she's become the poster girl for a DIY generation that will not wait for opportunities to be presented to them and instead harness their skills to create their own.
