Played silent film comedienne Mabel Normand briefly in the musical "Mack and
Mabel" until replaced by singer Kelly Garrett at the insistence of Gower Champion.
The show didn't hit Broadway until 1974 with Bernadette Peters handling the part
of Mabel.
