I had low expactations as, besides hating the person Arnaldo Jabor for his hateful texts and speeches, I consider his movies 'I love you' and 'Love me forever or never' among the worst I have ever watched. While being considered as one of the best 100 Brazilian movies ever, as Abraccine association did, still seems ridiculously exhaggerated to me, I admit it is quite an interesting film. It has smart ironic moments and good art direction, depicting in allegories decadent reactionary middle class, the lack of true empathy to lower classes and the poor, and the strangeness between different generations in the 70's. However, there are drawbacks which seem common to Jabor's cinematography, as the chaotic script and the excess of unnecessary screaming and noise. Anyway, the superstar casting does impress: Paulo Gracindo, Zezé Motta, José Dumont, Stênio Garcia, Fernanda Montenegro, Regina Casé, Luiz Fernando Guimarães, Anselmo Vasconcelos, Fernando Torres...
