Mermaids & Immortality
25 June 2022
1684, King Louis XIV (14 if you've forgotten) of France drops an unknown baby daughter (Marie-Josephe) at a convent. Likes to swim (very un-Sister like); grows up & returns to dad's palace where she meets an imprisoned mermaid captured to give the King immortality. Unemotional & bizarre storyline; difficult to form a viewer connection, also poor animation, and dumb ending. Oddly, people (mostly the females) looked like contemporary models (make up, etc. Even though at that time skin quality was universally poor). Some even dressed very 21st century.
