Gems like kaminey, haider, omkara, 7 khoon maaf, maqbool weren't able to break-even at BO And when he throws in a Matru ki Bijlee or Rangoon in between it keeps the producers at bay.
His son is also interested in the same genre but his first film kuttey bombed at BO sadly a script is required which has substance.
