Robert Benchley stars in this short subject produced for the navy. It's a rough and ready round-up of a few of the things a sailor will go through in the few days in the Navy, leading up to the discharge.
Benchley plays the befuddled lecturer he had been doing since his college days, along with himself going through the process. Although it's certainly not as amusing as HOW TO SLEEP, he does have a nice sequence in which he fails to explain to Hugh Beaumont -- who also narrates -- his job before the Navy. There's also a brief appearance by Ava Gardner in one of his dreams.
Although it's more informative than amusing, it's a pleasant short for fans of Benchley.
