Lowndes wrote this, did I read that right? That explains the childish level of writing which cannot be disguised no matter how hard you might try. The interactions and dialogue are adolescent at best. She is obviously not a seasoned writer at this point, maybe she's improved since.
As for Lowndes on screen, I always love the way she looks, her characteristics, something about her whole being I am enamored with. That alone awards this film half a star. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the premise is not realistic the conversations are inorganic and nonsensical. The only redeeming aspect is his crush on her, which is plausible and heartfelt. In contrast, her lack of interest and laissez-fair attitude are insulting and childish. Did she just write herself into such a lousy character as this? I am appalled.
Another pessimistic comment is her acting is not on point and she needs a lot of coddling to get her personality to show up for this particular role. I am at a loss for words, this movie bombed big time, and I am saddened to see this level of daftness.
